Dabur Shares Rise 4% as Q2 Revenue Set for Double-Digit Growth

Dabur India projects double-digit revenue and profit growth for the September quarter, supported by strong rural demand and international sales. Following the announcement, the stock rose nearly 4% on Tuesday. While sales momentum remains solid, management highlighted that persistent inflation in raw material costs, particularly crude and packaging, continues to weigh on profit margins.

Dabur India announced on Tuesday that it expects double-digit growth in both revenue and profit for the second quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year. The company’s business update highlighted a resilient performance across its domestic consumer goods portfolio and key international markets. Investors reacted positively to the news, sending the stock up nearly 4% to an intraday high of ₹393.15 on the National Stock Exchange.

Growth Drivers and Market Trends

The projected expansion is being led by a notable recovery in rural markets, which are currently outpacing urban demand. This shift is a key indicator for investors ahead of the festive season. On the international front, the company reported high-teen growth in rupee terms across several regions, including Egypt, Turkey, and the United Kingdom. Within the domestic business, the Home and Personal Care segment—which includes products like hair oils and shampoos—has seen consistent double-digit growth for four consecutive quarters. The Food and Beverage division is also contributing to the performance with mid-teen growth, supported by the company's diversified price points.

Despite the strong topline performance, maintaining profit margins remains a challenge. The company noted that rising input costs for crude oil and plastic packaging are creating pressure on profitability. To counter these inflationary headwinds, management has implemented targeted price adjustments and internal cost-saving measures, which they believe will help sustain double-digit profit growth.

The next major monitorable for shareholders will be how the company manages these rising input costs alongside potential external risks. Management continues to track geopolitical tensions in West Asia and broader supply-side volatility, which could impact operations in the coming months. The sustainability of the current rural demand trend during the upcoming festive period will be critical for investors to observe.
