Dabur India Targets Double-Digit Growth by FY27

Dabur India plans to achieve double-digit revenue growth and higher profit margins by FY27 through premium product sales and rural expansion. The company is managing inflationary pressures by adjusting prices while maintaining strong performance in rural markets and international segments.

Dabur India has outlined a strategic roadmap aimed at achieving double-digit revenue growth by fiscal year 2027. The company intends to reach this goal by focusing on two primary areas: increasing the total volume of products sold and implementing strategic price adjustments to navigate changing market conditions. This approach is designed to balance growth with the protection of operating margins, which the management expects to grow at a faster rate than overall revenue by FY27.

Premium Products and Margin Strategy

A significant part of the company's plan involves a shift toward higher-value products. These premium offerings are currently growing at nearly double the rate of the company's average, providing a boost to profitability. By focusing on higher-value items, the company aims to improve its operating margin despite persistent inflationary pressures. The management noted that targeted price increases have been effective in offsetting higher raw material costs, which have been influenced by geopolitical challenges in regions like West Asia.

Rural Markets and Distribution Reach

Data from the company shows that consumer demand in rural India remains a key growth driver, with rural sales currently outperforming those in urban centers. To capitalize on this, Dabur is actively expanding its distribution network. The strategy includes increasing the availability of smaller, lower-unit-price packs, which are often more accessible to rural consumers. Even with uncertainties such as potential weather-related impacts on agriculture, the company reports that rural demand continues to show resilience compared to urban regions.

International Performance and Currency Impact

The company’s international business, which contributes roughly 30% of its total revenue, reported a 15.5% growth rate during the April-June quarter. Markets such as Turkey, Egypt, and parts of Sub-Saharan Africa have been major contributors to this performance. While geopolitical tension in West Asia remains a challenge, the company’s focused operations in that region have managed to grow. Additionally, the international segment has benefited from favorable currency translation gains, and the company expects this double-digit growth trajectory to continue for the remainder of the year.

Investor Monitorables

Investors will be closely watching the company’s ability to maintain these margins while navigating raw material price volatility. The effectiveness of the expansion into rural markets and the continued adoption of premium product lines will be essential to achieving the FY27 targets. Furthermore, the company’s performance in volatile international markets will remain a key factor in assessing overall revenue stability in the coming quarters.
