Cupid Q1 Profit Jumps 194% to ₹44 Crore on Strong Exports

Cupid Limited reported a nearly threefold increase in Q1 FY27 net profit to ₹44.15 crore as revenue climbed to ₹154.72 crore. The company has raised its full-year revenue outlook, driven by robust international demand. Investors may monitor the upcoming commissioning of the Palava manufacturing plant, which is expected to support future scale.

Cupid Limited, the consumer healthcare and FMCG firm, has reported a strong start to the new fiscal year. For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, the company posted a net profit of ₹44.15 crore, marking a significant 194% increase compared to the ₹15.01 crore reported in the same period last year. Revenue from operations also saw a sharp rise, climbing 159% year-on-year to reach ₹154.72 crore.

Operating Performance and Margin Growth

The company’s ability to drive profitability while scaling revenue was evident in its operating margins. The Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) margin expanded to 38.82%, a notable improvement from the 27.56% reported in the previous year's corresponding quarter. Management attributed this performance to a mix of robust demand in international markets and successful implementation of price increases across its export portfolio. The company noted that a favorable foreign exchange environment and effective currency hedging strategies also supported its bottom line.

Future Guidance and Expansion Plans

Backed by sustained demand and high order visibility, Cupid has revised its revenue guidance for the full fiscal year 2027 to over ₹660 crore. A key development for investors to monitor in the near term is the commissioning of the new Palava manufacturing facility, which is slated for the second quarter of the current fiscal year. This expansion is expected to provide greater manufacturing flexibility and help the company meet its growing order book in both domestic and international markets.

Financial Considerations and Risks

While the company’s operational growth remains strong, investors should be aware of a few factors that could influence future performance. The company has identified potential risks related to the mark-to-market volatility of its equity investments, such as its holding in Baazar Style Retail Limited, which could impact Other Comprehensive Income. Additionally, as the company scales its operations, it may face higher finance costs due to increased working capital requirements. Like many manufacturers, the company also remains sensitive to volatility in raw material prices, though it maintains inventory buffers to manage supply chain risks. Future updates will likely center on the execution speed of the Palava facility and whether the company can maintain these elevated profit margins amidst changing global demand and cost pressures.
