Overview

India's Consumer Affairs Ministry announced that 26 major e-commerce and quick commerce platforms, including Flipkart, Zomato, Blinkit, and Zepto, have voluntarily declared themselves free from 'dark patterns.' These companies conducted self-audits or third-party assessments to confirm compliance with regulations against deceptive user interface designs. The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) praised this move and urged other platforms to follow suit, while cautioning against manipulative practices.
