Butterfly Gandhimathi Q2 Profit Rises 19% to ₹20 Crore

Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances reported a 19 percent jump in net profit to ₹20 crore for the September 2026 quarter, supported by strong festive demand. While revenue grew, the company's profit margin came under pressure due to rising commodity costs. Investors will monitor whether the firm can manage these input expenses in the upcoming quarters.

Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances reported its financial results for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, showing a 19 percent increase in net profit compared to the previous year. The kitchenware manufacturer reached a profit of 20 crore rupees for the quarter ended September 2026, up from 17 crore rupees in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter also saw growth, climbing to 331 crore rupees from 293 crore rupees in the second quarter of the 2026 fiscal year.

The company’s performance was supported by increased consumer interest during the festive season. The management noted that strong sales during the Onam festival provided a boost to the company's revenue. To sustain this momentum, the firm has been focusing on brand visibility through a combination of digital marketing, offline channels, and trade activities.

Despite the growth in revenue and profit, the company faced challenges regarding its profit margins. The material margin for the quarter stood at 36.2 percent, which was 160 basis points lower than the same period last year. This means that for every 100 rupees of revenue, the company spent more on raw materials than it did in the previous year. Management attributed this situation to rising commodity prices. While the company has implemented price adjustments to offset some of these increased costs, the inflationary environment remains a factor that could limit bottom-line growth if commodity prices remain high.

For the first half of the 2027 fiscal year, the company recorded a profit after tax of 29 crore rupees, a 24 percent increase from the prior year, with revenue reaching 545 crore rupees. Looking ahead, the company continues to focus on broadening its reach across various product categories. As the firm navigates this environment, investors will likely track whether the company can successfully pass on costs to consumers without impacting demand, or if it can achieve operational efficiencies to protect its profit margins.
