Asian Paints announced robust financial results for the second quarter ended September 30, 2025. Consolidated net profit surged by an impressive 43% to ₹994 crore, while consolidated net sales grew by 6.4% to ₹8,514 crore compared to the same quarter last year.
The company's Managing Director & CEO, Amit Syngle, highlighted a strong performance driven by focused innovation and execution. The domestic decorative business achieved a significant double-digit volume growth of 10.9% and a 6% value increase, despite challenging monsoon conditions. This growth was attributed to demand from both urban and rural areas, supported by regional marketing efforts.
The international business also delivered double-digit revenue growth, particularly in South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, although Syngle noted the landscape remains dynamic.
In addition to its strong results, the Asian Paints board approved an interim dividend of ₹4.50 per equity share for the financial year ending March 31, 2026. The record date for this dividend is November 18, 2025.
For the first half of FY26 (H1 FY26), net sales increased by 2.9% to ₹17,438.2 crore, and net profit rose by 12.3% to ₹2,093.4 crore. The company's standalone performance was also strong, with Q2 standalone profit surging 60% to ₹955.6 crore.
However, the Home Décor segment saw a sales decrease of 4.7% in Q2 FY26, and the kitchen business also experienced a dip. Conversely, the industrial business sales grew by 10.2% in the quarter.
Impact This strong quarterly performance, coupled with a dividend payout, is likely to be viewed positively by investors, potentially boosting Asian Paints' stock price. The company's ability to achieve growth in its core decorative segment amidst challenging weather indicates resilience and strong market positioning. The international segment's growth adds another layer of positive outlook. The overall financial health demonstrated may also positively influence investor sentiment towards the broader consumer durables sector. Rating: 7/10
