Asgard Alcobev Unit and Brews & Bliss Forge Northeast Beer Alliance

Asgard Alcobev Limited announced on March 17, 2026, that its subsidiary CMJ Breweries Private Limited has agreed to a three-year manufacturing and distribution pact with Brews & Bliss LLP. The agreement, effective April 1, 2026, through March 31, 2029, covers the production and marketing of Golden Eagle beer brands.

CMJ Breweries will manufacture specific Golden Eagle beer variants, including Golden Eagle Strong, Golden Eagle Mild, Golden Eagle Premium Strong, and Golden Eagle Premium Mild, at its Meghalaya facility. Brews & Bliss LLP will manage the commercial aspects, including working capital funding and market coordination. A 12-month lock-in period is included for production planning.

This collaboration aims to expand the market presence of Golden Eagle beers in Northeast India and Bhutan, leveraging CMJ Breweries' production capacity to reach these growing markets.

Asgard Alcobev, formerly Banganga Paper Industries, has strategically shifted its focus to the alcoholic beverages sector following its acquisition of a majority stake in CMJ Breweries in February 2026. CMJ Breweries is recognized as the largest brewery in Northeast India. This diversification follows declining turnover in Asgard Alcobev's original paper operations.

The partnership enters a competitive market alongside major players like United Breweries (Kingfisher), Carlsberg, Heineken, and Bira 91. Key challenges will include navigating regional distribution complexities and competitive pressures, alongside ensuring strong market reception for the Golden Eagle brands.

Investors will be monitoring the successful rollout of manufacturing and distribution operations from April 1, 2026, and the subsequent sales performance of Golden Eagle beers in the target regions. The potential for future market expansion will also be a key development.
