Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail posted a consolidated net profit of ₹53.05 crore for the September 2026 quarter, with revenue growing 11.17% to ₹2,265.61 crore. The company is now counting on the peak festive and wedding season to sustain this momentum, even as it balances a 6% price hike on its inventory to manage rising input costs.
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail (ABFRL) reported a consolidated net profit of ₹53.05 crore for the second quarter of the 2026-27 fiscal year, a noticeable increase from the ₹23.44 crore reported in the same period last year. Revenue for the quarter rose by 11.17% year-on-year to reach ₹2,265.61 crore. Despite this top-line growth, the company is navigating a complex environment characterized by pressure on profit margins and shifting consumer demand.
To manage the impact of rising operating costs, the company implemented a 6% price increase across its inventory. Management has indicated that this price hike has not been fully passed on to consumers immediately, as the firm aims to balance cost recovery with customer retention. The upcoming December quarter will serve as a crucial testing period to see how these higher price points perform against consumer appetite during the peak festive and wedding season.
Market data from the September quarter highlighted that growth was uneven across the company’s diverse portfolio. Casual wear and athleisure categories provided the primary momentum during the period, partly due to a softer demand for wedding-related apparel in that specific window. However, the company is now transitioning its strategy to focus on ethnic and wedding-led merchandise to capture potential growth in the festive months.
Investors are keeping a close watch on how the company manages the trade-off between price increases and sales volume. There is a risk that if consumer sentiment toward higher prices remains weak, the company may be forced to rely on aggressive discounting to clear inventory, which could dampen profit margins. This concern comes against the backdrop of a challenging year for the stock, which has seen a decline of over 50% year-to-date. As of early November 2026, the stock has been trading in the range of ₹39.60 to ₹39.95.
Separately, the company is moving forward with internal structural changes, recently securing shareholder approval for the ABFRL ESOP Scheme 2026 via a postal ballot that concluded on November 2, 2026. The key monitorable for shareholders in the coming months will be whether the festive season demand is strong enough to justify the price hikes without eroding volume growth or profitability.
