Global climate models indicate an intense El Niño event will persist through 2027, with sea surface temperatures reaching record levels. For Indian investors, this creates uncertainty regarding monsoon patterns, potentially impacting agricultural output, rural demand, and food inflation, which may affect companies in the tractor, fertilizer, and FMCG sectors.

A powerful climate event known as 'Super El Niño' is intensifying in the Pacific Ocean, with current forecasts suggesting it could persist well into 2027. Meteorological data confirms that sea surface temperatures in the Niño 3.4 region have surpassed +2.4°C, which is significantly above the threshold for a standard El Niño. This climatic shift is altering trade winds and cloud formations, creating a global weather pattern that experts warn could make 2027 one of the hottest years on record.
