Vinati Organics Targets 15% Revenue Growth for FY27

Vinati Organics projects 15% revenue growth in FY27, backed by higher capacity for ATBS and new production from its Veeral Organics unit. While the company saw a 28% revenue jump in the June quarter, rising raw material costs weighed on profit margins. Investors may focus on the company's ability to maintain a 26% EBITDA margin as new facilities ramp up.

Vinati Organics, a key player in the specialty chemicals sector, has announced a growth target of 15% for the 2026-27 financial year. The company's expansion plans, including the ramp-up of its ATBS capacity from 30,000 to 50,000 tonnes per annum, are central to this outlook. Management expects demand for these products to recover starting in October, which would support better utilization of its new infrastructure.

June Quarter Financials and Margin Dynamics

For the first quarter ending June 2026, the company reported a strong 28% increase in revenue. However, profitability did not grow at the same pace, with net profit rising by 4.5% and EBITDA growing by 7%. This difference highlights the impact of rising raw material costs and fluctuating currency rates. As a business that exports roughly 55% of its products, Vinati Organics often faces the dual effects of currency volatility on both its export earnings and import costs for raw materials.

Expansion Projects and Future Revenue

The company is currently focused on the Veeral Organics facility, which is undergoing re-engineering with a completion target set for December. Revenue from this unit is expected to commence in January, with potential annual earnings estimated at ₹500 crore once it reaches 70% to 80% utilization. Investors may watch for the expected ₹150 crore contribution from this project in FY28. Additionally, the company has clarified that it will use a flexible sourcing strategy for anisole, choosing between in-house production and imports based on which option is more cost-effective.

Operational Goals and Investor Monitorables

Despite the pressure on profit margins from input costs and geopolitical factors in West Asia, Vinati Organics has reaffirmed its guidance to maintain an EBITDA margin of around 26%. The company is also working to improve its return on capital employed (ROCE), which is currently between 15% and 16%. Management aims to increase this metric to approximately 20% over the next two to three years by ensuring its new capacity is used efficiently. The primary monitorables for shareholders in the coming quarters will be the successful commissioning of the Veeral Organics re-engineering project, the actual margin performance against the 26% guidance, and the speed at which ATBS demand recovers.
