Waaree Energies Outlook: Anand Rathi Cites Execution Focus

Anand Rathi maintains a positive view on Waaree Energies, setting a target price of Rs 3,333. The brokerage emphasizes that the company's future performance hinges on ramping up cell production and executing its large Rs 615 billion order book. Investors should track these operational targets as the firm shifts from capacity expansion to earnings delivery.

Anand Rathi has maintained a positive stance on solar manufacturer Waaree Energies, with a target price of Rs 3,333, even as the company faces short-term operational hurdles. The recent assessment highlights a quarter where underlying performance was somewhat pressured by lower-than-expected factory usage rates and a decline in export volumes. The impact of these challenges was partially offset in the financial results by a Rs 3.5 billion tariff-related reversal, which masked the softer operational core.

The investment case for the company is now increasingly tied to its ability to convert its massive scale into bottom-line profit. As of the latest updates, Waaree Energies holds a significant order book valued at Rs 615 billion. The challenge for management is to execute these orders efficiently while navigating a transition from a phase of aggressive factory building to one where the focus is on steady earnings growth.

Looking ahead, the brokerage firm points toward the second half of fiscal year 2027 as a critical period. Expectations for improved performance are pinned on three primary factors. First, the company aims to increase its production of DCR (Domestic Content Requirement) cells. Second, management is targeting a normalization of export shipments to the United States market, which had previously faced headwinds. Finally, the commercial launch of the company’s Battery Energy Storage Systems business is expected to contribute to a more diversified revenue stream.

While the company benefits from an integrated manufacturing platform that covers a large part of the solar value chain, the reliance on successful execution remains a key monitorable. Anand Rathi has adjusted its earnings expectations and valuation multiples downward for the upcoming fiscal years, reflecting a more cautious view on the pace of profit realization. Investors should keep a close eye on the actual commissioning of new production lines and the speed at which the large order book is converted into finished, delivered projects, as these factors will be the primary drivers for financial stability and future margin performance.
