Unimech Q2 Revenue Jumps 98% Amid Aerospace Expansion

Unimech reported a 98.4% increase in revenue for the second quarter of fiscal 2027, driven by strong demand in the aerospace and semiconductor equipment sectors. With profit margins reaching 39.8%, the company is now focusing on executing its new international contracts. Investors will track whether this rapid growth pace can be sustained alongside the company's recent expansion efforts.

Unimech has delivered a strong financial performance for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, with figures showing significant growth across key metrics. The company reported a 98.4% surge in revenue compared to the same period last year. Profit after tax more than doubled, rising 102.8%. This performance was supported by a notable improvement in profitability, with the company's profit margin rising to 39.8%, up by nearly 10 percentage points from the previous year. This improvement suggests the company is becoming more efficient at managing its costs as its sales volume increases.

The company is currently shifting its business strategy toward higher-value engineering, specifically targeting aerospace tooling, semiconductor equipment, and complex precision components. By expanding into these areas, Unimech aims to move beyond its traditional business and tap into industries that require highly specialized manufacturing. The recent acquisition of Hobel Bellows is part of this plan, intended to help the company enter the industrial and data center infrastructure markets, which could help protect it from a slowdown in any single industry.

A key driver for the company's future growth is its ability to secure large, multi-year contracts with international clients. The company has announced a USD 7.5 million agreement with FACC and a separate USD 43 million contract for a French Tier-1 customer. These deals are designed to provide a steady stream of future revenue. Management expects these programs to start contributing more significantly to production volumes by fiscal year 2028.

While the growth outlook appears positive, there are factors investors should monitor. A major part of the company’s future depends on the smooth execution of these long-term international projects. Any delays in meeting delivery timelines or cost overruns could put pressure on the company's high profit margins. Additionally, while moving into new sectors like semiconductor equipment is a growth opportunity, these industries can be cyclical, meaning demand might fluctuate based on global economic conditions. Concentration risk is another area to watch, as the reliance on a few large international customers means the company's financial performance is closely tied to the requirements and business health of these specific clients.

Following these results, analysts at Choice Institutional Equities have maintained a buy rating on the stock with a target price of INR 1,950. The firm remains positive on the company's revenue growth outlook for the coming years. Moving forward, shareholders will likely focus on whether the company can maintain its high profit margins while scaling up production for its new international programs.
