Tube Investments of India Forms Bullish Pattern; Brokerages Target ₹3,150+

Tube Investments of India has formed a bullish 'Inverse Head & Shoulders' technical pattern, signaling a potential trend reversal. While analysts at firms like Geojit see upside potential, the stock’s outlook is also tied to the company's Q1 FY27 earnings, which showed strong revenue growth alongside margin pressure from investments in new segments like electric vehicles.

Tube Investments of India (TII) has recently caught the attention of market analysts due to a specific technical formation on its weekly price chart known as an 'Inverse Head & Shoulders' pattern. In technical analysis, this shape is often viewed as a sign that a stock's previous downward trend may be losing strength and could be preparing for an upward reversal.

Following this chart development, analysts at Geojit Financial Services have highlighted a potential target price of ₹3,150 for the stock. The share price has shown recent movement in the range of ₹2,924 to ₹2,959, with technical momentum indicators like the RSI (Relative Strength Index) showing an upward trend, suggesting that buying interest is picking up compared to recent weeks.

Financial Performance and Growth Investments

While technical patterns offer one view of the stock, the company’s business fundamentals are also central to investor interest. In its Q1 FY27 results, Tube Investments reported a consolidated revenue growth of 17.07% year-on-year, reaching ₹6,215.33 crore. However, the company’s profit after tax dipped by 3.04% to ₹293.96 crore during the same period.

This dip in profit is largely linked to the company's aggressive expansion strategy. Tube Investments is currently spending significant capital to enter newer, high-growth areas, specifically in the electric vehicle (EV) and semiconductor sectors. The company has earmarked a capital expenditure plan of ₹600 crore to ₹700 crore for FY27. While these investments are meant to drive future growth, they are currently creating what is known as 'gestation losses'—costs that hit the balance sheet before the new projects start generating substantial revenue.

Market Outlook and Risks

Besides Geojit Financial Services, other brokerages like Motilal Oswal have also maintained a positive view on the stock, setting a target price of approximately ₹3,379. However, the outlook is not without its challenges. The company is currently facing margin pressure caused by high raw material inflation, particularly in commodity costs like steel, which can affect profitability.

Investors monitoring the stock are often looking at how quickly these new EV and semiconductor segments can begin contributing to the bottom line. The risk for shareholders remains that if raw material costs stay high or if these new business segments take longer than expected to become profitable, profit margins could continue to face pressure.

The next important updates for investors to track will be the progress on these capital-intensive projects, the management’s commentary on margin recovery, and whether the company can maintain its revenue growth trajectory in the coming quarters. Market participants will also continue to watch broader market sentiment, as the stock's technical breakout relies on consistent institutional participation.
