Tata Elxsi Shares Rise 8% After Q2; Target At ₹3,760

Tata Elxsi shares rallied nearly 8% on October 14, 2026, following its Q2 FY27 results and a positive outlook from analyst Deven Choksey. While the company reported healthy revenue growth and margin expansion, investors should remain aware of mixed brokerage sentiment, which cites risks regarding European automotive demand and slower deal ramp-ups.

Tata Elxsi shares witnessed a sharp move on Wednesday, rising about 8% to hit an intraday high of ₹3,706. This market reaction followed the company's earnings release for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year and a brokerage report from analyst Deven Choksey, which assigned a price target of ₹3,760 to the stock.

In the quarter ended September 2026, Tata Elxsi reported revenue of ₹1,055.7 crore, representing a 15% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit also rose 10% year-over-year to ₹170.3 crore. Despite the impact of annual wage increases, the company demonstrated operational efficiency, managing to expand its EBITDA margin by 70 basis points sequentially to reach 21.9%.

While the report highlights the company's ongoing investments in artificial intelligence and its pipeline of connected vehicle projects as potential growth drivers, market sentiment remains divided. Several other brokerages continue to maintain a 'Sell' or 'Reduce' rating on the stock, creating a divergence in expert opinion. This suggests that while there are growth prospects, the market is also weighing significant challenges.

Investors looking at the company’s path ahead may consider several risks that analysts have flagged. A primary concern is the weak demand for automotive engineering services in the European market, which is a major contributor to the company’s revenue. Any slowdown in this region could limit growth in the near term. Furthermore, analysts are closely tracking the speed of deal conversions and the ramp-up of new projects in the media and healthcare sectors. There are also questions regarding how quickly the company can recover its profit margins to the higher levels seen in the 2026 fiscal year.

The management has stated they expect a stronger performance in the second half of the 2027 fiscal year as current projects gain momentum. For shareholders and potential investors, the key monitorables will be the company’s ability to execute these large contracts, the actual demand trend in the European auto sector, and whether margins can continue to improve despite ongoing wage costs and competitive pressures.
