Sahajanand Medical Technologies IPO Opens Oct 15: Band Fixed at ₹344

The Sahajanand Medical Technologies IPO will open for subscription from October 15 to October 19, 2026, with a price band of ₹327–₹344 per share. Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has issued a 'Subscribe' rating for long-term investors, citing the company's R&D strength. However, investors should carefully weigh risks such as product concentration, regulatory price caps, and international certification hurdles.

Sahajanand Medical Technologies is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on October 15, 2026, with the subscription window closing on October 19, 2026. The company has fixed its price band between ₹327 and ₹344 per equity share. This IPO is a 100% offer for sale (OFS), which means all shares being sold are owned by existing shareholders. Consequently, the company will not receive any of the money raised through this public offering to fund its own business operations or expansion.

Business Positioning and Analyst View

Anand Rathi has assigned a 'Subscribe' rating to the IPO for investors looking at a long-term horizon. Analysts highlighted the company’s established position in the cardiovascular device sector and its dedication to research and development. The firm specializes in products like drug-eluting stents and complex Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation (TAVI) systems. With a footprint across 77 countries, the company has emphasized its ability to innovate in the medical technology space. At the upper end of the price band, the IPO values the firm at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of approximately 50.6x, based on its projected FY26 earnings.

Financial Performance and Operational Context

For the financial year 2026, the company reported revenue of ₹1,210.50 crore, representing a growth of 18.11% year-on-year. The profit after tax for the same period stood at ₹69.08 crore. While these figures indicate growth, the company operates in a sector where regulatory oversight is significant. The medical device industry in India is subject to government-mandated price caps, which limits the company's ability to adjust pricing and can influence profit margins.

Key Risks for Investors

A crucial factor for investors to track is product concentration risk. The company's flagship stent, 'Supraflex Cruz,' accounts for roughly 37.17% of its total revenue. This means the company is heavily dependent on the performance of a single product line, making it vulnerable to competitive shifts or changes in medical preferences for this specific stent.

Beyond product concentration, there are regulatory hurdles to consider. The company faces the upcoming expiration of several EU certifications by December 2027 for products like Pipit, Hydra, and Cocoon. Maintaining these certifications is vital for continued international business, and any delays could impact operations. Furthermore, the company is exposed to currency risk; with over 77% of its raw material purchases imported and a large portion of its revenue generated in foreign markets, fluctuations in exchange rates can impact financial stability. Investors should monitor the subscription progress and the final listing, which is tentatively scheduled for October 23, 2026, on the BSE and NSE.
