Sagility India Q2 Results: Margin Guidance Raised to 26%

Sagility India reported 2.3% quarter-on-quarter revenue growth in the second quarter, slightly missing analyst estimates. The company raised its operating profit margin guidance to 25–26% for fiscal 2027 and finalized the acquisition of Chirok Health. Investors are tracking how this acquisition integrates into the firm’s US healthcare revenue cycle business, while brokerages maintain a positive outlook.

Sagility India’s latest quarterly results showed a steady operating performance, though the company’s revenue growth of 2.3% sequentially fell slightly short of analyst estimates of $214 million. Despite the revenue miss, the company demonstrated strong cost discipline, which helped drive a 290 basis point expansion in its operating profit margin, or EBITDAM, on a sequential basis. This improvement was largely attributed to better operating efficiencies and favorable foreign exchange movements, which can often impact the bottom line for Indian companies servicing US clients.

Chirok Health Acquisition Strategy

To strengthen its market presence, Sagility finalized the acquisition of Chirok Health. The deal was closed at an enterprise value-to-sales ratio of 2.5x and an enterprise value-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 7x. This strategic move is aimed at addressing gaps in the mid-revenue cycle segment, a critical area for US healthcare providers. For investors, the focus remains on whether this acquisition can broaden the company's provider portfolio and drive long-term revenue. Integration of such acquisitions carries execution risks, such as aligning work cultures and technical systems, which will be important to watch in the coming quarters.

Guidance and Financial Outlook

While the company adjusted its seasonal revenue expectation downward by 100 basis points to approximately 5% for fiscal year 2027, it maintained its commitment to low-double-digit constant currency organic revenue growth. Profitability expectations were revised upward, with management now guiding for an adjusted EBITDAM of 25–26%, an increase from the previous range of 24–25%. Analysts at Emkay Global Financial have updated their models to account for the Chirok acquisition, with a price target of Rs 55 based on an 18 times multiple of the estimated earnings per share for September 2028.

As a company primarily serving the US healthcare payer and provider markets, Sagility remains sensitive to US healthcare regulations and insurance reimbursement trends. Any shifts in the US healthcare landscape, including changes in insurance plans or regulatory pressure on healthcare spending, could influence the company’s demand. Investors should continue to monitor the progress of the Chirok Health integration, the stability of client contracts, and the ability of the company to maintain its improved operating margins throughout the remainder of the fiscal year.
