Prudent Corporate Eyes 20% Growth in MF Business for FY27

Prudent Corporate Advisory Services expects its mutual fund arm to grow by over 20% in FY27, banking on higher assets and a strong SIP book to overcome recent regulatory changes. The company also anticipates the insurance business to expand by at least 30%, serving as a key growth driver despite yield pressure from SEBI commission norms.

Detailed Coverage

Ahmedabad-based Prudent Corporate Advisory Services is targeting a revenue increase of more than 20% within its mutual fund division for the 2026-27 financial year. This growth target comes despite a recent shift in regulatory norms by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) regarding trail commissions, which has impacted the yields earned by distributors.

Impact of SEBI Commission Changes

The company reported a dip in revenue during the April-June 2026 quarter, a trend linked to both seasonal fluctuations in the insurance segment and the new commission structure introduced by SEBI. These changes require distributors to receive ongoing fees only as long as investors hold their positions, leading to a decline in average yields from 91.2 basis points to 88.4 basis points. To address this, the company plans to rely on a higher volume of assets under management, which currently stand at approximately ₹1.40 lakh crore, and a robust monthly systematic investment plan (SIP) book valued between ₹120 crore and ₹140 crore. Success in maintaining this growth will depend largely on continued investor interest and stable market conditions.

Insurance Segment as a Growth Lever

Beyond its mutual fund operations, Prudent is placing significant focus on its insurance business. Management has indicated that this segment is expected to outpace the mutual fund division, with a projected growth rate of at least 30% for the current fiscal year. Specifically, the firm is aiming for a 40-45% rise in health insurance premium collections. The company is also betting on the recent launch of new life insurance products to provide additional support to its overall premium revenue throughout FY27.

Investors will likely track the company's ability to scale its asset base effectively to offset the thinner margins caused by the lower commission yields. Future updates will center on whether the company can sustain its monthly SIP inflows and if the insurance sector expansion can meet the high growth targets set by the management team as the fiscal year progresses.
