Prabhudas Lilladher has increased its target price for Prudent Corporate Advisory Services following strong quarterly earnings and robust distributor network expansion. While the company continues to see strong SIP inflows, investors are tracking the potential impact of new insurance regulatory guidelines on future profits.
Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has raised its target price for Prudent Corporate Advisory Services to Rs 3,200 from the previous target of Rs 3,175. This update follows a strong recent financial performance, where the company’s operating profit exceeded analyst expectations.
A key driver of this performance has been the growth in Quarterly Average Assets Under Management (QAAuM), which rose by 7.9% in the recent quarter. This growth rate outpaced the broader industry’s equity growth, which stood at 6.6%. A significant portion of this success is linked to the company’s focus on Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs). These recurring monthly investments now account for 50% of the company's gross sales, providing a stable revenue stream that helps the business navigate periods of stock market volatility.
The company is also aggressively expanding its footprint in the financial advisory sector. In the first half of the current fiscal year, it added 2,811 new distributors to its platform, significantly higher than the 1,680 partners added in the preceding half-year period. This trend is driven by regulatory changes that are encouraging smaller, unregistered distributors to migrate to established platforms that offer better technology and operational support.
Despite this growth, there are regulatory risks that investors should monitor. Draft guidelines from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) could impact the company's profitability. Analysts have estimated that these potential regulations might result in a 12% impact on the company's Profit Before Tax. Consequently, the brokerage has moderated its profit projections for the 2028 and 2029 financial years by approximately 6%.
To account for these adjustments, the brokerage revised its valuation multiple to 37x. The increase in the target price is largely due to rolling forward these earnings estimates to September 2028. Moving forward, the most important factors for investors to track will be the finalization of the IRDAI regulations and whether the company can maintain its current pace of adding new distributors while managing its operating costs.
