Prabhudas Lilladher Sets Rs 11,858 Target for Voltamp Transformers

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has assigned a target price of Rs 11,858 for Voltamp Transformers, citing strong revenue growth of 41.8% in Q2 FY27. While order inflows remain robust, the company faces margin headwinds with a 393 basis point contraction. Investors may monitor the performance of the new Jarod Unit-III facility, which began commercial operations in October 2026, as a key driver for future growth.

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has issued a target price of Rs 11,858 for Voltamp Transformers, highlighting the company's strong revenue momentum despite ongoing profitability challenges. In the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, the company reported a significant revenue increase of 41.8% year-on-year, reaching Rs 684 crore. This performance has been driven by steady demand across key industrial sectors, including steel, cement, and the growing data center space.

Impact of Margin Pressure on Profitability

While top-line growth remains impressive, the company is navigating a difficult period regarding profit margins. In Q2 FY27, EBITDA margins contracted by approximately 393 basis points. This decline is largely attributed to elevated input costs, rising energy prices, and persistent supply chain frictions that are affecting the broader power equipment sector. Investors should watch whether the management can improve margins in the coming quarters through better pricing strategies for new contracts and operational efficiencies.

Capacity Expansion and Execution Visibility

To support future growth, Voltamp Transformers launched its new manufacturing facility (Unit-III) in Jarod, Vadodara, which officially began commercial production on October 7, 2026. This expansion is designed to boost production capacity, with initial operations focusing on 220kV transformers and plans to move into the 400kV segment in the future. The company currently holds an order book of Rs 19 billion, which provides reasonable revenue visibility for the upcoming quarters.

Risks and Future Monitorables

The company’s ability to maintain its growth trajectory will depend on managing several business risks. Beyond the immediate pressure on profit margins from raw material and logistics costs, the sector is also sensitive to geopolitical volatility. Furthermore, the company faces competitive pressure in the industrial and power transformer market. Going forward, the most important updates for investors will be the ramp-up of the new Jarod facility, the ability to pass on cost increases to customers, and the continued pace of order inflows from infrastructure-heavy industries like data centers.
