Prabhudas Lilladher Retains Buy on Flair Writing, Target Rs 382

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained its ‘Buy’ rating on Flair Writing Industries with a price target of Rs 382. This follows a difficult second quarter where net profit fell 26% to Rs 31.72 crore due to rain-related disruptions at its Valsad plant. While the company has reduced its full-year growth outlook to 12%, analysts expect a recovery driven by new capacity in the steel bottle segment.

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has kept its ‘Buy’ rating on Flair Writing Industries, setting a target price of Rs 382. This decision comes despite a challenging performance in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, where the company faced operational issues that impacted its bottom line.

In its latest quarterly report, Flair Writing Industries announced a consolidated revenue of Rs 340.12 crore, which is a 6% increase compared to the same period last year. However, net profit saw a significant decline, dropping 26% to Rs 31.72 crore. The primary reason for this dip was heavy rainfall at the company's manufacturing facility in Valsad, which caused operational disruptions. These events, combined with rising raw material costs, created pressure on the company's profit margins.

Due to these operational headwinds, the company has lowered its growth outlook for the full financial year. It now expects revenue growth of approximately 12%, down from the previously estimated 15%. This revision reflects a more cautious approach as the company navigates the current economic environment.

Despite the recent setbacks, the brokerage remains focused on the company’s long-term growth strategy. A key pillar of this plan is the expansion of the steel bottle segment. Flair Writing is currently working on adding a fourth production line for this segment, which is expected to be ready for operation in the final quarter of the current financial year. This expansion is seen as a major driver for future revenue.

To address the current pressure on profit margins, the company’s management has started implementing cost-control measures. This includes a review of discount schemes and selective price increases for its products. The expectation is that these steps will help stabilize and eventually improve margins in the coming quarters. Investors should note that the company also declared an interim dividend of Rs 0.50 per equity share, with a record date set for November 6, 2026.

Looking ahead, the main factors for investors to monitor include the successful and timely commissioning of the new production capacity in the steel bottle segment. Additionally, global economic conditions, particularly those affecting export markets like West Asia, will be important to watch, as they could impact overall demand. The company's ability to maintain its margin recovery plan against persistent inflation will also be a key indicator of its operational health in the near term.
