Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has downgraded LG Electronics India to 'Hold' from 'Accumulate' following a recent stock price rally. While the company reported strong Q1 FY27 revenue growth of 15.5% to ₹7,233 crore, the brokerage set a new target price of ₹1,723, citing that the current valuation already reflects near-term growth expectations.
Prabhudas Lilladher has shifted its rating on LG Electronics India from 'Accumulate' to 'Hold' in a research report released on August 15, 2026. This adjustment follows a significant run-up in the company's share price, which the brokerage suggests has already factored in much of the near-term growth potential. Despite the downgrade in rating, the brokerage has raised its target price to ₹1,723, up from the previous ₹1,690.
The decision comes after the company delivered robust financial results for the first quarter of the 2027 financial year. LG Electronics India reported consolidated revenue of ₹7,233 crore, a 15.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Operational performance was also strong, with Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, and Amortization (EBITDA) rising 26.2% to ₹904 crore. As of August 17, 2026, the stock has been trading in the range of ₹1,675 to ₹1,695.
The company’s performance was driven by growth in its core segments. The Home Appliances and Air Solution division grew by 13.6% year-on-year, supported by strong summer demand for air conditioners and refrigerators. Similarly, the Home Entertainment segment, which includes televisions, saw a 22.3% increase. Management has attributed this success to a shift toward higher-value, premium products, such as larger-screen televisions and advanced appliances, which command better pricing.
Looking ahead, the company is focusing on expanding its manufacturing footprint. A key project for investors to track is the upcoming capacity addition at the Sri City facility, which aims to add 2 million units in compressor production. This is intended to supplement the existing 1 million capacity at the Noida plant. Successfully executing this expansion on schedule will be important for supporting future volume growth.
While the operational outlook remains positive, there are factors that investors should monitor. The electronics and home appliance sector is highly competitive, and maintaining market share often requires sustained marketing and promotional investment. Additionally, the company is exposed to risks such as raw material cost inflation, currency fluctuations, and potential shifts in consumer demand, especially in smaller cities where household budgets may be more sensitive to economic conditions. The brokerage’s shift to a 'Hold' rating reflects a cautious view on the stock's valuation rather than concerns over the underlying business health. The primary monitorable for shareholders will be the company’s ability to sustain profit margins while scaling up its new manufacturing capacity.
