Elara Capital has raised its target price for FSN E-Commerce Ventures (Nykaa) to ₹475, citing its success in attracting customers for higher-value products. The company's resilience against quick-commerce platforms and strong Q1 FY27 financial results, which showed a 226% jump in net profit, support this outlook. Investors are monitoring how the firm balances marketing costs while expanding its 'Nykaa Now' delivery service.
Elara Capital has maintained a 'Buy' rating on FSN E-Commerce Ventures, the operator of the Nykaa platform, and increased its stock target price to ₹475 from the previous ₹400. This upgrade highlights confidence in the company's strategy to focus on customers who prefer higher-value products, which helps the business stand out in a competitive retail environment.
Nykaa's business model remains centered on a curated selection of beauty and personal care items. This approach has allowed the company to protect its market share in the online beauty segment despite the rapid expansion of quick-commerce platforms. While rivals compete primarily on delivery speed, Nykaa has prioritized high-value offerings, which has supported its average order value. The company plans to continue this trajectory, with long-term goals for fiscal year 2030 that include achieving 2.5 to 3 times its current Gross Merchandise Value and 4 to 5 times its operating profit.
The company’s latest financial performance has provided evidence that this strategy is gaining traction. In the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, Nykaa reported a consolidated revenue of ₹2,782 crore, reflecting a 29.10% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit saw a significant rise of 226% year-on-year, reaching ₹80 crore. The operating EBITDA, which measures core business profitability, grew by 67.79% to ₹236 crore, with profit margins expanding by nearly 200 basis points to 8.48%. This indicates that the company is effectively managing its costs while scaling operations.
To support its growth, Nykaa has been expanding its physical presence, now operating 324 beauty stores across 105 cities as of early August 2026. A key area for investors to watch is the 'Nykaa Now' service, the company's initiative to offer faster deliveries. While this is intended to improve customer experience, it also brings potential challenges. Increased marketing and operational spending to acquire new customers and maintain these delivery services could create pressure on profit margins. If the company spends too aggressively, it could impact short-term profitability.
Beyond internal execution, the company faces broader risks typical of the retail sector. Macroeconomic factors, such as inflation potentially hitting consumer demand, higher oil prices affecting logistics, and currency fluctuations, remain variables that could influence performance. Furthermore, meeting the ambitious growth targets set for FY30 requires consistent execution across its diverse portfolio. The next major monitorables for shareholders will be the stability of profit margins as the company ramps up its 'Nykaa Now' service and its ability to maintain its leadership position in the beauty segment amidst evolving competition.
