Nykaa Shares Rise 5% After Strong Q2 Growth Update

Shares of Nykaa's parent, FSN E-Commerce Ventures, rose 5% following a positive Q2 FY27 business update. The company projects nearly 30% GMV growth, with strong contributions from both its beauty and fashion segments despite the festive season shifting to the next quarter.

Shares of FSN E-Commerce Ventures, which operates the Nykaa brand, rallied by approximately 5% on Monday, October 5, 2026. The stock movement followed a positive business update released by the company regarding its performance in the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027.

In its latest filing with the stock exchanges, the company reported robust growth momentum, projecting a consolidated Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) growth of nearly 30% compared to the same period last year. This performance highlights the company's ability to maintain scale across its core retail businesses.

The growth was driven by consistent demand across both major segments. The fashion vertical performed particularly well, with Net Sales Value (NSV) growth projected in the early 40s and net revenue growth in the early 40s. The beauty and personal care business also showed steady results, with both NSV and net revenue growth anticipated to be in the high 20s. The company also noted that a portion of the festive season, which typically drives consumer spending, has shifted to the third quarter of the fiscal year. This timing difference means some festive-led demand will be reflected in the upcoming quarterly results rather than the current one.

To support its reach, the company continued to expand its physical retail presence, opening 14 net new stores during the quarter. This brings the total store count to 338 as of September 30, 2026, signaling a continued strategy of building an omnichannel presence where customers can shop both online and in physical stores. The increase in the store network is part of the company's effort to improve accessibility and brand visibility across various markets.

While the market reacted positively to these operational updates, investors often look at competitive dynamics as a factor to monitor. The online retail and beauty sectors in India are highly competitive, with established players and new entrants frequently launching aggressive discount campaigns to capture market share. Maintaining profitability while sustaining this level of growth in a competitive environment will be a key area for shareholders to track.

The next important update for investors will be the detailed financial results for the second quarter, which will provide a clearer picture of profitability, operating margins, and how the company managed its costs while expanding its footprint. The market will also be watching for management commentary on how the festive season shift to the third quarter impacts consumer demand and overall revenue in the coming months.
