Jupiter Life Line Hospitals: Prabhudas Lilladher Projects 17% EBITDA CAGR

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained a positive outlook on Jupiter Life Line Hospitals, projecting 17% EBITDA growth through FY28. While the recent quarterly EBITDA slightly missed expectations due to new facility costs, adjusted core performance grew 13%. Investors are tracking how occupancy improvements at new Pune and Indore centers influence future profit margins.

Prabhudas Lilladher has reaffirmed its optimistic stance on Jupiter Life Line Hospitals, setting a price target of Rs 360 based on its valuation models for the fiscal year 2028. This outlook is rooted in the company’s ongoing strategy to scale its presence in high-density regions, particularly within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, where it has historically managed to maintain operational efficiency despite intense local competition.

Operational Performance and Profitability

The company reported consolidated EBITDA of Rs 793 million for the first quarter of the fiscal year. While this figure came in below the brokerage’s expectation of Rs 830 million, the shortfall was largely attributed to the initial operating losses at the newly opened Dombivli unit. When these new unit losses are set aside, the core business demonstrated a 13% year-on-year growth. For investors, this distinction is important as it highlights that the established hospital units continue to perform steadily, while the temporary drag on margins is a common feature of new hospital commissioning.

Growth Outlook and Capacity Expansion

The brokerage anticipates a steady growth trajectory, projecting a revenue and EBITDA compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20% for the period between fiscal years 2023 and 2026. Looking further ahead, the expectations for fiscal years 2026 to 2028 include a 17% growth rate for EBITDA and a 10% growth rate for profit after tax. These projections rely heavily on the assumption that occupancy rates at the company’s newer facilities in Pune and Indore will continue to ramp up. As these hospitals move past the stabilization phase, the company aims to see an improvement in overall profit margins.

Strategic Considerations for Investors

Expansion remains the primary focus for Jupiter Life Line Hospitals. The company is investing in greenfield projects—building new hospitals from scratch—in densely populated areas. While these projects are expected to drive long-term revenue growth, they also require significant upfront capital spending and lead to temporary margin pressure until the facilities reach a high enough utilization level to break even. Investors may monitor the commissioning timelines of these new units and the speed at which they reach break-even occupancy levels, as these are critical factors that will determine whether the company can meet its projected profit growth targets over the coming years.
