Jio Platforms IPO: Valuation And Brokerage View

Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has assigned a 'Subscribe – Long Term' rating to the upcoming Jio Platforms IPO. Priced at a market capitalization of ₹10.3 lakh crore, the valuation reflects 34.3x FY2026 earnings. Investors are focusing on the firm's 533 million subscriber base and integrated digital services as central factors for its long-term potential.

The upcoming initial public offering of Jio Platforms has drawn attention from market analysts, with brokerage house Anand Rathi initiating coverage on the issue. The brokerage has assigned a 'Subscribe – Long Term' rating to the offering. The valuation of the company is pegged at a market capitalization of ₹10,304,905 million. At the upper price band, the firm trades at 34.3 times its projected FY2026 price-to-earnings ratio and 14.8 times its estimated EV/EBITDA.

Scale and Market Presence

Jio Platforms, which operates under the broader digital and telecom umbrella of its parent company, has seen rapid growth since its inception in 2019. As of June 30, 2026, the company’s primary subsidiary, Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, recorded a subscriber base of 533.3 million. This large user base forms the core of its business, allowing the company to move beyond simple connectivity. The business model integrates mobile and fixed broadband with cloud infrastructure and various enterprise-focused digital solutions.

Future Growth and Strategic Focus

The company is currently shifting its focus toward higher-value segments. This includes expanding into artificial intelligence-based solutions, Internet of Things (IoT) applications, and cloud security for corporate clients. By using its own proprietary software and network engineering, the firm is attempting to secure a larger portion of the enterprise services market. The management's strategy involves cross-selling this range of consumer and business applications to its existing user base, which is intended to create a steady revenue stream across different digital segments.

Competitive and Financial Context

While the company has a strong footprint, it operates in a highly competitive telecom and digital landscape. It faces direct competition from incumbents like Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea, both of which are also vying for market share in the digital services and broadband space. Investors should note that the sector is capital-intensive, requiring consistent spending on infrastructure, network upgrades, and spectrum acquisitions. High capital expenditure is a standard feature of this industry, which can impact cash flows and margins over the short to medium term. Additionally, the regulatory environment in India regarding telecom tariffs and digital policies remains a factor that influences the growth trajectory of all players in the sector. The next important update for potential investors will be the filing of the Red Herring Prospectus, which will provide more granular details on the company's debt levels, specific use of proceeds from the IPO, and updated financial performance metrics.
