Jefferies Initiates TBO Tek Coverage Targeting 20% Growth

Global brokerage Jefferies has initiated coverage on TBO Tek, projecting over 20% annual growth in hotel bookings through 2031. The report highlights the company's B2B travel platform, the recent luxury travel expansion via the Classic acquisition, and its operational efficiency.

Global brokerage firm Jefferies has initiated coverage on TBO Tek, with a positive outlook on the company's ability to maintain a compound annual growth rate of over 20% in hotel gross transaction value through 2031. This growth projection comes as the travel technology company continues to scale its operations and deepen its reach within the travel sector.

TBO Tek operates a business-to-business platform that connects travel agents with hotel and airline inventory. Unlike consumer-facing travel apps, its model is built on an API-led infrastructure that serves as a backend for travel agents. This structure often results in lower customer turnover compared to retail-agent models, as travel agents tend to rely on the platform’s consistent technology and inventory for their daily operations.

To drive future growth, the company is focusing on the luxury travel market through its acquisition of Classic. While TBO Tek previously supplied inventory to Classic, it is currently in the process of integrating the platforms. Management expects the full front-end integration to be complete by the end of the calendar year. This move is designed to capture complex, high-value travel bookings, a strategy that relies heavily on localized payment solutions and human support to maintain a business advantage over competitors.

Operational leverage is a central theme in the brokerage's outlook. Analysts expect that as the platform grows, the company will see profit margins expand faster than overall revenue. The firm is integrating artificial intelligence to assist agents with productivity, rather than replacing the human-centric service model. This approach is intended to preserve service quality while scaling technical infrastructure.

Investors may want to monitor certain risks tied to the company's geographic footprint. Management has noted that geopolitical volatility in West Asia presents a challenge to operations in that region. While the company views this as an opportunity to reinforce service standards and loyalty, any sustained regional instability could impact booking volumes. Another key monitorable will be the successful integration of the Classic platform and whether it delivers the expected cross-selling synergies in the luxury segment.
