HDFC Securities Sets Nifty, HAL, Karnataka Bank Technical Levels on Oct 14

HDFC Securities analyst Vinay Rajani has advised a buy-on-dips strategy for the Nifty index, keeping an eye on support levels at 22,580 and 22,300. The brokerage also highlighted technical setups for Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) and Karnataka Bank.

On October 14, 2026, HDFC Securities analyst Vinay Rajani suggested a cautious but optimistic approach for the Nifty index. The brokerage recommends that investors look for opportunities to accumulate shares during market dips, provided the index holds its established support levels. Technically, the Nifty is seen to be forming a pattern of higher tops and higher bottoms, with an immediate resistance zone between 23,100 and 23,150. If the index manages to stay above the 22,580 support floor, the technical setup is viewed as positive. However, a drop below the secondary support of 22,300 would likely signal a need for investors to reconsider their positions.

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) Analysis

Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (HAL) continues to be in focus due to its recent price trends. The stock has been trading above its key moving averages, suggesting strength in its current price action. HDFC Securities has noted a technical target of ₹5,155 for the stock, with a suggested stop-loss level of ₹4,600 to help manage downside risk.

From a business perspective, HAL reported 14% revenue growth in the June 2026 quarter, reflecting sustained activity in the defense sector. Despite this growth, investors often monitor the company for potential volatility linked to supply chain constraints, which can affect the speed of project execution and short-term performance. The stock's ability to maintain its upward trajectory often depends on how effectively the company manages these operational challenges alongside its order book execution.

Karnataka Bank Technical Setup

Karnataka Bank is also attracting attention as it approaches levels near its all-time highs. The brokerage report identifies a potential breakout for the stock if it sustains above the ₹346 mark. Investors are observing a technical target of ₹364, with a recommended stop-loss at ₹325.

Financially, the bank has demonstrated growth, notably posting a 43.29% rise in consolidated net profit for the June 2026 quarter. While this performance reflects positive momentum, banking stocks are inherently sensitive to wider sector risks, such as interest rate fluctuations and asset quality updates. Investors tracking this stock typically keep a close watch on how the bank manages its loan growth and credit risk, which are standard monitorables for the banking sector.

Market and Operational Risks

While technical analysis provides a framework for trading, the broader market environment remains sensitive to external factors. Current market sentiment is being influenced by global cues, including fluctuations in crude oil prices and mixed performance in Asian markets. For HAL, supply chain consistency remains a key factor to watch. For Karnataka Bank, banking sector regulations and overall credit demand are important. Investors should note that technical levels such as stop-losses are intended for risk management and do not guarantee future performance, especially during periods of high market volatility.
