Geojit Sets Rs 5,635 Target on Titan Company

Brokerage firm Geojit Financial Services has initiated 'Buy' coverage on Titan Company with a target of Rs 5,635. The positive outlook follows the company's strong Q1 FY27 results, where revenue and profit grew significantly. Investors should note that while growth remains solid, the stock trades at a premium valuation and remains sensitive to gold price volatility and customs duty changes.

Geojit Financial Services has initiated coverage on Titan Company with a 'Buy' recommendation, setting a price target of Rs 5,635. This report follows Titan’s recent release of its financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, which showcased strong growth despite a challenging consumer environment. As of August 17, 2026, the company's shares are trading around the Rs 5,078 level.

The brokerage's optimistic outlook is largely driven by Titan's solid execution in its core business areas. For the quarter ending June 30, 2026, the company reported consolidated revenue of Rs 21,356 crore, representing a 29.3% increase over the previous year. Profit after tax saw an even sharper rise, climbing 62.9% to reach Rs 1,777 crore.

The primary growth engine for the company has been its jewelry segment, which recorded a revenue jump of approximately 43% year-on-year. This performance was boosted by robust demand during the wedding and festive season, along with an increase in the number of customers and the average spending per transaction.

Titan Company consistently commands a premium valuation compared to its peers in the consumer retail sector. Geojit’s research suggests that this higher market valuation is justified by the company's track record of consistent earnings growth and high return ratios. The target price of Rs 5,635 is based on the brokerage's expectations for earnings in the 2028 fiscal year.

However, investors should remain aware of potential risks. A significant challenge for Titan is the volatility in gold prices, which directly impacts inventory costs and consumer buying behavior. Furthermore, the business is sensitive to regulatory changes, such as adjustments in government customs duty on gold, which can influence both margins and sales volume. Because the stock trades at a high price-to-earnings multiple, any sign of slowing demand or margin pressure could impact investor sentiment.

Moving forward, the primary monitorables for shareholders will be the sustainability of demand in the jewelry segment and how effectively the company manages its margins amidst fluctuations in gold prices. Investors may also want to keep an eye on any further management commentary regarding store expansion plans and the broader impact of import duty changes on operational costs.
