Fortis Healthcare Target Price Set At ₹1,050 By Prabhudas Lilladher

Brokerage firm Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained a positive outlook on Fortis Healthcare, assigning a target price of ₹1,050. The firm cites strong operational performance and ongoing expansion plans, while noting the company is managing recent regulatory audits. Investors are monitoring how the firm balances its aggressive 1,800-bed growth strategy with current legal and operational oversight.

Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained a positive outlook on Fortis Healthcare, setting a target price of ₹1,050 per share. The brokerage highlights the company’s strong operational performance and clear growth strategy as the primary reasons for its confidence. This update comes as the hospital chain continues to work on expanding its bed capacity and improving its earnings margins.

The company’s recent financial results support the brokerage's outlook. For the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, Fortis Healthcare reported a consolidated revenue of ₹2,545 crore, marking a 17.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Profit after tax stood at ₹273 crore. Analysts suggest that this growth is driven by a favorable mix of cases and the company's efforts to improve its operational efficiency.

Operational Growth and Expansion

A key part of the investment case is the company’s planned expansion. Fortis Healthcare aims to add approximately 1,800 beds over the next four to five years. This capital spending is a significant part of the company's future growth, intended to increase revenue potential. Management has also set a long-term target of reaching a 25% consolidated operating EBITDA margin by fiscal year 2028. Additionally, the company benefits from the support of its parent promoter, IHH Healthcare, which has expressed its intention to increase its stake in the firm to 51% by 2030.

Handling Regulatory Context

While the outlook remains focused on growth, the company is also managing a regulatory development. On August 31, 2026, the Delhi High Court ordered a six-month forensic audit concerning historical share transactions involving former promoters, the Singh brothers. This event has drawn attention from market participants. However, in its communications, Fortis Healthcare has clarified that this order does not impose any financial liability or operational restrictions on the current entity. The company maintains that its day-to-day business and planned expansions remain unaffected by this process.

Investor Monitorables

Investors looking at the company's progress will likely focus on a few key areas in the coming quarters. The primary focus remains on the execution of the 1,800-bed expansion plan and whether the company can maintain or improve its profit margins despite rising costs, such as those related to employee stock options and overheads from new hospital units. Furthermore, the market will likely track updates regarding the forensic audit process to see if it remains confined to historical matters without impacting current operations. Success in maintaining high occupancy levels and managing the integration of newly acquired units will also be critical factors for the company’s financial performance.
