ESDS Software Solutions Hits Upper Circuit Again; Brokerage Sets ₹1,550 Target

ESDS Software Solutions shares hit the 20% upper circuit for the second consecutive session, closing at ₹1,090.05. The rally follows a strong IPO debut last week and a bullish outlook from Choice Institutional Equities, which sees significant growth potential tied to the company's $1.25 billion AI infrastructure agreement.

ESDS Software Solutions continued its rapid ascent on the stock market on September 7, 2026, hitting the 20 percent upper circuit for the second consecutive trading day. The stock closed at ₹1,090.05 on the National Stock Exchange, extending the momentum seen since its initial public offering (IPO) debut on September 4. The company entered the market at ₹757, marking a 76.46 percent gain over its issue price of ₹429.

Bullish Outlook and AI Contract

Market sentiment has been bolstered by Choice Institutional Equities, which initiated coverage on the company with a buy rating and a price target of ₹1,550. This target suggests an upside of approximately 71 percent from the current market price. The brokerage's optimism is primarily driven by the company’s recent $1.25 billion (approximately ₹11,831 crore) AI cloud infrastructure agreement with Australia-based Sharon AI.

Analysts believe this deal could significantly transform the company's earnings trajectory over the next few years. The company has demonstrated strong financial progress, with its profit after tax (PAT) rising to ₹120.8 crore in fiscal year 2026, up from ₹13.6 crore in fiscal year 2024. The firm's business model focuses on cloud services, data centers, and AI infrastructure, which are high-demand sectors in India’s growing digital economy.

Execution and Valuation Risks

While the market response has been enthusiastic, investors often consider the risks associated with such rapid price increases. Following a sharp rise, the stock is trading at a significant premium to its IPO price, which may lead to profit-taking by early investors.

Furthermore, the $1.25 billion figure cited in the AI agreement represents the total potential value of the contract over five years, rather than guaranteed immediate revenue. The actual financial benefit for the company will depend on the successful execution and utilization of this infrastructure. Large-scale technology deployments often carry risks, including potential project delays, technical challenges, and the need for significant capital spending to build out the required capacity. Additionally, like any company in the cloud services sector, ESDS Software Solutions faces intense competition and must maintain its competitive advantage to secure and retain large, long-term contracts.

Investors may want to monitor the company’s progress regarding the timeline for the Sharon AI contract, which is expected to see revenue commencement in the third quarter of fiscal year 2027. Future exchange filings regarding project milestones, capacity expansion, and utilization rates will be critical indicators of the company's ability to turn its order book into sustainable profit growth.
