Dixon Technologies Q2 Revenue Jumps 47% Despite Margin Dip

Dixon Technologies posted a 47% revenue increase to ₹21,794 crore in Q2 FY2027, driven by strong mobile and EMS demand. However, EBITDA margins tightened to 2.7% as government incentives expired and material costs rose. The stock rebounded over 11% as investors focused on the company’s expansion into IT hardware and its new joint venture with Vivo.

Dixon Technologies reported a significant 47% increase in consolidated revenue, reaching ₹21,794 crore for the second quarter of fiscal year 2027. This growth was largely fueled by robust demand in its mobile and Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) segments, supported by higher average selling prices across its product lines.

Despite the strong top-line performance, the company faced clear pressure on profitability. EBITDA margins narrowed to 2.7%, compared to 3.8% in the same period last year. This margin contraction is primarily attributed to two factors: the expiration of the Mobile PLI 1.0 incentives in March 2026 and rising global memory costs, which have increased the raw material expenses for electronic components.

Strategic Focus for Long-Term Growth

Management is now shifting focus toward long-term expansion to offset these short-term cyclical pressures. The company is prioritizing the integration of its joint venture with Vivo and scaling operations in the IT hardware and telecom equipment sectors. Furthermore, the company is increasing its level of vertical integration, such as moving into the assembly of displays and camera modules. By manufacturing more components in-house, the company aims to improve its cost structure and reduce reliance on imported parts over the coming years.

Market Reaction and Investor Outlook

Following the earnings release, the stock witnessed a strong turnaround on November 4, 2026, rallying more than 11% as investor sentiment shifted from the short-term margin dip to the company’s long-term growth outlook. Major brokerages have maintained 'Buy' ratings on the stock, with target prices from firms like JPMorgan, Emkay, and Motilal Oswal ranging between ₹15,900 and ₹16,800. These analysts suggest that the market is looking past the current margin compression to focus on the company's potential to scale in the FY28 period.

For investors, the key monitorable will be the company’s ability to manage input cost volatility, particularly fluctuating memory prices that directly impact profit margins. Additionally, the execution of new projects, specifically the IT hardware expansion and the Vivo partnership, will be critical. Any unexpected slowdown in festive demand during the third quarter could also influence channel inventory and short-term performance, making quarterly demand trends an important factor to track.
