Deepa Jewellers IPO Opens; Anand Rathi Issues 'Subscribe' Rating

Deepa Jewellers' initial public offering opened for subscription on September 1, 2026, in a price band of ₹168–₹177 per share. Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has assigned a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating, citing the company's business-to-business model. The market response remained cautious on the first day, with subscription levels reaching approximately 0.20 times.

The initial public offering (IPO) of Deepa Jewellers, a manufacturer and supplier of 22-karat hallmarked gold jewellery, opened for public subscription on September 1, 2026. The company is seeking to raise approximately ₹459.72 crore through this issuance, which will remain open until September 3, 2026. The offer consists of a fresh issue of shares worth ₹250 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) by existing shareholders amounting to ₹209.72 crore.

Business Model and Analyst View

Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has initiated coverage on the IPO with a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating. The recommendation is primarily based on the company's established position in the business-to-business (B2B) supply chain, specifically its ability to supply high-demand items like vaddanam and machine-cut bangles to major retail chains. The company counts prominent names such as Joyalukkas India, Kalyan Jewellers, and Lalithaa Jewellery Mart among its key enterprise clients.

Financial Performance

The company has reported a significant scale-up in its operations over the last two fiscal years. Revenue has grown from ₹1,024.57 crore in fiscal 2024 to ₹1,926.68 crore in fiscal 2026. During the same period, the company's Profit After Tax (PAT) increased from ₹24.35 crore to ₹104.79 crore. While these numbers reflect rapid expansion, investors may monitor whether the company can maintain these profit margins, especially given the competitive nature of the gold jewellery retail and supply market.

Key Risks to Consider

While the company has shown growth, potential investors should review several specific risks mentioned in the company’s filings. A primary concern is the high geographic concentration of business, with approximately 94% of revenue derived from South India. Any demand fluctuations or regional economic shifts in these states could impact the company's financial performance.

Furthermore, the business model faces high customer concentration risk. The top ten clients account for nearly 65% of the total revenue, making the company dependent on the purchasing power and inventory strategies of a small group of large retail chains. Additionally, the business requires substantial working capital to manage gold inventory, which exposes the company to risks associated with gold price volatility. The presence of a significant Offer for Sale (OFS) component by promoters is another aspect that market participants often track during the IPO process.

Market Response

On the first day of the subscription, the IPO witnessed a cautious start from investors. The overall subscription was recorded between 0.17 times and 0.22 times by mid-day. The final subscription numbers and the grey market sentiment in the coming days will provide a clearer picture of market appetite. The shares are expected to be listed on the BSE and NSE on September 8, 2026. Investors may continue to track the final subscription numbers, management commentary, and any further updates on demand trends in the jewellery sector.
