Cyient DLM Q1 Profit Jumps as Order Book Hits ₹2,600 Crore

Cyient DLM reported a 56.3% increase in operating profit for the first quarter of FY27, backed by a record order book of ₹2,600 crore. The electronics manufacturing services provider is now targeting growth in high-demand segments like AI data centers and robotics.

Detailed Coverage

Cyient DLM has reported strong financial results for the quarter ending June 2026, marking a positive start to the new fiscal year. The company saw its revenue grow by 34.3% compared to the same period last year, while its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) rose by 56.3%. The operating margin improved to 10.5%, reflecting a 150 basis point expansion, which suggests better control over costs or a more profitable product mix.

The company reached a new milestone with an order book of ₹2,600 crore. This order pipeline, which indicates the value of work the company has committed to perform for its clients, provides a book-to-bill ratio of 1.5x. For investors, this ratio is a helpful indicator as it shows that the company has a steady stream of work lined up, offering more clarity on potential revenue over the next several quarters.

Expanding into Advanced Technology Verticals

Beyond current operations, Cyient DLM is shifting its focus toward emerging areas that require high-reliability electronics manufacturing. The company is actively working to enter the market for AI data center equipment, robotics, and semiconductor manufacturing tools. These segments are characterized by complex technical requirements, which can serve as a business advantage for firms with specialized engineering capabilities.

Another focal point for the company is its Board-to-Service (B2S) business. Management has indicated that this segment is expected to be a key driver for long-term margin improvement. By offering services beyond simple manufacturing, such as design support and testing, the company is attempting to move toward higher-value products.

Financial Context and Analyst Views

Following these results, analysts at Prabhudas Lilladher have adjusted their financial projections for the company. They expect revenue to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 31.4% between fiscal years 2026 and 2028. Earnings per share estimates for FY27 and FY28 have also been revised upward to account for the stronger performance. The brokerage currently maintains a hold rating on the stock with a target price of ₹635, basing its valuation on 38 times the projected earnings for March 2028.

Investors should monitor how effectively the company executes its expansion into these new verticals. While the record order book offers visibility, the actual benefit to the bottom line will depend on the timing of project commissioning and the ability to maintain these margins despite potential competitive pressure in the electronics manufacturing space. Future updates regarding the conversion of these orders into revenue and the ramp-up of the B2S business will be important for tracking the company's growth trajectory.
