Crompton Greaves Revenue Jumps 18% In Q2 To ₹2,263 Crore

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals reported an 18.2% revenue increase to ₹2,263 crore for the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year. Growth was driven by solid performances across its electrical durables, lighting, and kitchen appliance segments. Investors are likely watching how the company manages commodity price pressure and sustains profit margins in a competitive market.

Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals posted a strong performance in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, with revenue rising 18.2% year-on-year to reach ₹2,263 crore. This marks the third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth for the company, reflecting steady demand across its core business lines.

The Electrical Consumer Durables division, which is the largest part of the company's business, was a major contributor to this growth. Revenue from this segment rose 19.4% to ₹1,634 crore. The company credited this to a recovery in the fans segment, alongside continued demand for water heaters and other small domestic appliances.

The lighting segment also saw healthy growth, bringing in ₹298 crore, a 14.3% improvement from the previous year. The company noted that institutional interest in commercial and industrial lighting, combined with consistent demand for outdoor fixtures, provided the necessary support for this segment. Additionally, the Butterfly Gandhimathi Appliances unit, which focuses on kitchenware, reported a 15.9% revenue increase to ₹331 crore, aided by gains in market share.

Operational efficiency was a central theme for the company during this quarter. Management stated that the supply-chain constraints that hampered production during the first quarter of the year have now fully normalized. With inventory levels restored, the company has successfully resumed smoother production and distribution cycles.

Despite the positive revenue growth, the company faces ongoing external pressures. Commodity cost inflation remains a key challenge, as rising input costs for materials like copper and steel can impact profit margins. While the company has used efficiency initiatives to support margins, it remains in a competitive industry where pricing power is critical. The most important monitorables for investors going forward will be the company's ability to manage volatile raw material costs and sustain its sales volume in the face of intense market competition.
