Crompton Greaves: Brokerage Sets ₹330 Target Amid Q1 Growth

Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained a 'Buy' rating on Crompton Greaves with a ₹330 price target, highlighting strong Q1 FY27 earnings and growth in the consumer durables segment. However, the stock recently fell by 7.4% as investors expressed concern over margin pressures despite the company's expansion plans and a robust solar order book.

Prabhudas Lilladher has maintained a 'Buy' rating for Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals, setting a price target of ₹330. This optimistic view follows the company’s recent Q1 FY27 financial results, where it reported a consolidated revenue of ₹2,235 crore, marking an 11.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Net profit also rose by 15.2%, reaching ₹143 crore, with operating margins improving slightly to 10.04% from 9.59% a year ago.

Despite these positive financial results, the stock price faced a sharp decline of 7.43% on August 7, 2026, closing at ₹249.95. This market reaction suggests that while the company is growing, investors are carefully evaluating the impact of cost pressures, such as commodity inflation, which continues to challenge profit margins across the electrical consumer durables and lighting sectors.

The brokerage's report identifies several areas of potential, including strong growth in BLDC fans and the Lighting segment, both of which have helped the company capture more market share. Additionally, the subsidiary Butterfly has contributed to revenue growth, supported by steady demand for kitchen appliances like mixer grinders and cooktops. The company is also scaling up its solar rooftop business, which currently holds an order book of ₹500 crore, with about ₹450 crore expected to be executed over the next six to eight months.

Looking ahead, the company is investing in a new greenfield manufacturing plant, with a planned expenditure of ₹350 crore. This move is aimed at increasing production capacity to meet long-term demand. However, the business faces risks from intense competition in the electrical and appliance markets, which can limit the ability to pass on rising raw material costs to customers through price hikes.

Investors may track how effectively the company manages these cost pressures in the coming quarters and whether the new manufacturing capacity and the execution of the solar order book can provide a consistent boost to earnings. The company remains debt-free, which provides some financial stability, but the immediate focus remains on maintaining margin levels amidst a competitive environment.
