Bonfiglioli Transmissions IPO Opens Oct 15; Price Band ₹558-₹586

Bonfiglioli Transmissions opens for subscription from October 15 to October 19, 2026, with a price band of ₹558–₹586 per share. Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has issued a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating. Investors should note the issue is a 100% offer for sale by the promoter, meaning no funds will enter the company for business expansion.

Bonfiglioli Transmissions is set to open its initial public offering (IPO) for subscription on October 15, 2026, with the bidding process concluding on October 19, 2026. The company has set a price band of ₹558 to ₹586 per share. The lot size for retail investors is 25 shares, requiring a minimum investment of ₹14,650 per lot at the upper price band. The listing is tentatively scheduled for October 23, 2026, on the National Stock Exchange and BSE.

Brokerage firm Anand Rathi has assigned a 'Subscribe for Long Term' rating to the issue. This recommendation suggests that while the company has a strong footprint in high-precision power transmission and industrial drive solutions, potential investors should focus on a multi-year investment horizon rather than looking for immediate listing gains. The company operates in sectors like industrial automation and renewable energy, which are seeing significant capital spending in India.

At the upper price band, the company is valued at a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of approximately 47.7x based on its CY26 earnings. This valuation reflects the company's market position, but it also indicates that the shares are fully priced. Investors may want to consider whether the company's future profit growth can justify this level of valuation over the long term.

A critical factor for potential shareholders is that the IPO is an offer for sale (OFS) of 4.32 crore equity shares by the promoter, Bonfiglioli S.p.A. This means that all money raised—approximately ₹2,534 crore—goes directly to the selling shareholder rather than the company. Consequently, the company will not receive any fresh capital from this IPO to fund new projects or manage its balance sheet.

The company faces specific business risks that potential investors should monitor. These include a high dependence on its parent group for intellectual property and technology, as well as revenue concentration among a limited number of original equipment manufacturer clients. Furthermore, the business is sensitive to volatility in input costs and relies on efficient operations at its manufacturing facilities. As the company uses long co-engineering cycles to design products for specific clients, any delays in these projects or shifts in industrial demand could affect financial performance. Investors may track the company’s ability to maintain its profit margins and expand its client base beyond its current concentrated group in the coming quarters.
