Azad Engineering Hits Record ₹3,126 After Brokerage Upgrade

Azad Engineering shares touched a record ₹3,126, rising 111% over six months following an ICICI Securities 'Buy' upgrade. The rally follows the opening of new manufacturing plants for GE Vernova. Investors are now tracking the company's ability to maintain profit margins and execute its order book as it moves from an expansion phase to production.

Azad Engineering shares reached an all-time high of ₹3,126 during trading on Wednesday. This price reflects a 111% gain over the last six months. Trading volume was high, with approximately 5.85 million shares traded across the NSE and BSE, indicating strong investor interest.

The market’s focus on the stock follows the opening of two new manufacturing units at the company’s Hyderabad Centre of Excellence. These plants are dedicated to the gas power business of GE Vernova, a key client. This adds significant production capacity, bringing the total number of facilities dedicated to this partner to three. With six of seven planned facilities now operational, including a forging unit, the company is shifting its focus from spending money on building plants to actually using that capacity to generate revenue.

Following these developments, analysts at ICICI Securities upgraded the stock to 'Buy'. In their report, they projected a 33% annual revenue growth rate for the company through the financial year 2029. The brokerage noted that the company’s profit margins could potentially reach 38%, helped by improvements in how efficiently it produces parts and favorable currency factors. The brokerage also highlighted the potential for future growth in the defense sector, following the successful delivery of an indigenous turbojet engine to the DRDO.

While the expansion plans and order visibility appear promising, investors should also consider the nature of this growth. A 111% rally in six months shows that the market has high expectations for the company. The main test for Azad Engineering will be its ability to actually deliver on these high revenue and margin targets as the new plants start running at full speed. Because the business relies heavily on a few large clients like GE Vernova, the success of the company is tied to its ability to manage these relationships while keeping production costs low. Any delay or issue in ramping up production at the new facilities could affect the company’s ability to hit these growth projections.

Moving forward, the primary monitorable for investors will be the company’s ability to convert this new capacity into sustained earnings. Shareholders will likely look for updates on order execution, production efficiency, and management's ability to diversify its client base beyond its current core partnerships in the coming quarters.
