Arvind Fashions Gains Buy Rating From Motilal Oswal With Rs500 Target

Motilal Oswal has maintained a 'Buy' rating on Arvind Fashions, setting a target of Rs500 following strong Q2 fiscal 2027 results. The company reported a 10% revenue increase and improved margins driven by growth in direct-to-consumer sales. Investors are watching the brand's ability to maintain these profitability levels amid stiff competition in the lifestyle retail sector.

Motilal Oswal has maintained its 'Buy' rating on Arvind Fashions, projecting a target price of Rs500 per share. This update follows the company’s second-quarter results for the 2027 fiscal year, where it showed steady operational progress. The stock was trading near Rs350 as of November 4, 2026, reflecting the market's response to the company's financial performance and strategic shifts.

The company reported revenue of Rs1,559 crore for the quarter, marking a 10% increase compared to the previous year. Profitability also saw improvement, with EBITDA rising 15.5% to Rs216 crore. This resulted in an EBITDA margin of 13.9%, showing a growth of 67 basis points. These figures suggest that the company is effectively managing its cost structure even while operating in a competitive retail environment.

A key highlight for the company is its successful transition toward direct-to-consumer channels. These channels now account for 53% of its total revenue, a growth of approximately 380 basis points over the previous year. By reducing reliance on third-party marketplaces and cutting back on heavy discounting, the company is aiming to protect its margins. This strategy of moving toward higher-value sales channels is central to the brokerage's positive outlook.

Beyond the quarterly results, the company’s management has been active with strategic decisions. On November 2, 2026, the board approved the 'AFL PSU Scheme – 2026' and agreed to acquire a 25% stake in Arvind Global Capability Center Private Limited. These moves suggest a focus on internal restructuring and enhancing its support operations.

Despite the positive brokerage view, the retail sector faces ongoing challenges. Investors may want to consider risks such as potential fluctuations in raw material costs, which can impact gross margins. Additionally, the premium lifestyle and apparel market remains highly competitive. The company’s performance will also depend on consumer demand, as any slowdown in discretionary spending could affect future growth. The long-term success of these plans depends on the company's ability to maintain brand pull while scaling its own direct sales infrastructure. The next important monitorables for shareholders will be the pace of demand recovery and the management's ability to sustain margin expansion in the coming quarters.
