Analysts Spotlight Technical Setups As Nifty Faces 4-Day Losing Streak

The Indian market is enduring a four-day losing streak amid rising crude oil prices and global tensions. Despite this, technical analysts are identifying specific stocks like Oberoi Realty and Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services that appear to be showing resilient chart patterns independent of the broader index.

The Indian stock market is navigating a challenging period, with the Nifty 50 recording a four-day losing streak to close at 23,873.45. Market sentiment is being pressured by a combination of elevated global crude oil prices, which are hovering near the $96-$97 per barrel mark, and ongoing geopolitical tensions. In this climate of uncertainty, the benchmark indices are struggling to find upward momentum, and many participants have adopted a cautious approach.

Despite the broader index consolidation, some technical analysts are turning their attention to specific stocks that display potential decoupling from the market trend. These traders are identifying companies that exhibit stable price structures, such as support at moving averages or confirmed chart patterns, which may suggest relative strength even when the wider market is weak.

Real estate and financial services have become a focus for this technical analysis. Oberoi Realty, for instance, has been observed near its 50-day Exponential Moving Average, with analysts noting volume activity as a potential indicator of stability. In the same sector, Phoenix Mills is being monitored following a retest of a triangular breakout zone. In the financial space, LIC Housing Finance is showing signs of a range breakout, while Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services has formed a pattern often associated with potential reversals near the ₹360 support level. Technical analysts typically view these structures as zones where the stock price has historically found a floor, though these patterns are not guarantees of future performance.

In specialized segments, Navin Fluorine International has been highlighted for maintaining a trendline during its recent consolidation, while defense-focused Data Patterns is being tracked for its stability above key moving averages. Traders often use these technical levels to set risk management thresholds, such as stop-losses, to manage the downside if the stock breaks below expected support.

Investors should exercise caution, as technical setups do not insulate individual stocks from broader market volatility. The primary risks remain the sustained pressure from high crude oil prices, which can feed into inflation concerns and squeeze corporate margins, and the Nifty 50’s ongoing struggle at the 24,000 to 24,200 resistance zone. A decisive drop below the 23,800 support level on the index could lead to further technical weakness, impacting even the stocks that currently appear resilient. The success of any tactical trade will ultimately depend on whether these stocks can maintain their technical levels amidst a potentially difficult macro environment.
