360 ONE WAM Target Revised to Rs 1,240 by ICICI Securities

ICICI Securities projects 360 ONE WAM could reach a profit of Rs 17 billion by fiscal year 2028. The forecast relies on aggressive client growth in the wealth management sector. Investors should consider market risks and industry competition.

ICICI Securities has issued a report on 360 ONE WAM, setting a price target of Rs 1,240 per share. The brokerage estimates that the firm could achieve a profit after tax of approximately Rs 17 billion by fiscal year 2028. This projection is based on the company's strategy to expand its client base, specifically targeting ultra-high-net-worth families with a net worth exceeding Rs 100 million.

Scaling the Client Base

The core of this growth outlook is the company's ambition to increase its client count. The firm aims to grow its roster of ultra-high-net-worth families from the current level of 4,100 to between 8,000 and 10,000 over the next three to five years. The brokerage highlights that this expansion is supported by a solid recovery in annual recurring revenue assets under management. Furthermore, the firm expects improvements in operational efficiency, specifically through a better cost-to-income ratio, which could help protect profit margins as the business scales.

Wealth Management Industry Context

360 ONE WAM operates in a competitive Indian wealth management sector. This industry is currently benefiting from the rising number of high-net-worth individuals in the country. Companies in this space typically earn revenue through management fees linked to the total assets they handle, often called Assets Under Management or AUM. Because revenue is tied to the total value of client portfolios, the financial performance of these companies is often sensitive to broader stock market movements. When markets perform well, assets under management tend to grow, which increases fee-based income. Conversely, a prolonged market downturn can pressure earnings.

Risks and Market Realities

While the growth outlook for the sector is positive, analysts have noted potential risks. Intense competition is a major factor, as the firm competes not only with other dedicated wealth management boutiques like Nuvama Wealth but also with large private banks and international financial institutions that have aggressive wealth advisory arms. Additionally, the brokerage report points to risks from adverse mark-to-market movements, which means if the value of assets held by clients drops, the firm’s fee income may decrease. Regulatory changes in the financial services sector are another factor that investors generally monitor, as they can impact fee structures and product offerings.

Valuation and Next Steps

The brokerage’s valuation model uses a 32x multiple applied to the projected earnings per share of Rs 38.9 for fiscal year 2028. The target price of Rs 1,240 also considers full equity dilution, which accounts for the stake acquisition by UBS and warrants issued to the promoter of B&K. Moving forward, the most relevant factors for investors will be the company’s ability to execute its client acquisition strategy, the consistency of its recurring revenue, and how well it manages costs in a competitive market environment.
