Temasek, TPG Sell Rs 1,750 Cr Stake in Dr Agarwals Healthcare

Private equity majors Temasek and TPG have launched a block deal to divest an 11% stake in Dr Agarwals Healthcare at a floor price of Rs 500 per share. Valued at Rs 1,750 crore, the sale comes shortly after the company reported strong Q1 FY27 results. Investors are now monitoring how the stock absorbs this increased supply and watching for upcoming legal updates.

Investment firms Temasek and TPG have initiated a significant stake sale in Dr Agarwals Healthcare through a block deal. The transaction is valued at approximately Rs 1,750 crore, with an option to upsize the deal by an additional Rs 250 crore, potentially taking the total value to Rs 2,000 crore. The sellers have set a floor price of Rs 500 per share for the deal, which is a discount of roughly 7.7 percent compared to the company’s recent closing share price.

This divestment follows a year of notable stock performance for the healthcare chain, with the share price rising by nearly 22 percent over the past 12 months. The transaction is being managed by IIFL Capital and Kotak Securities. Block deals like this are common when private equity investors look to monetize their holdings after holding them for a certain period, allowing them to exit portions of their investment in a single, large transaction outside of the open market.

The timing of the sale coincides with positive financial reporting from the company. Dr Agarwals Healthcare recently released its results for the first quarter of the 2027 financial year, announced on August 4, 2026. The company reported a 26 percent increase in year-on-year revenue, reaching Rs 614 crore, while consolidated net profit grew by over 50 percent to Rs 45.23 crore. The company operates a significant network of 304 facilities across 10 countries as of June 30, 2026, showcasing a rapid pace of expansion.

For investors, the primary monitorable in the near term is the market's reaction to the increased supply of shares. While a discount in block deals is standard practice to attract institutional buyers, such large sales can sometimes put short-term pressure on the stock price until the supply is absorbed by the market. The ability of the company to maintain its growth trajectory amidst this change in shareholder composition will be a key area of focus for market analysts.

Beyond the financials and the current stake sale, there are other administrative updates that shareholders may keep in view. The company has a scheduled NCLT hearing on August 19, 2026. Developments from this legal event, along with the company’s ongoing efforts to manage its operational costs across its expanding network, will be important for investors to track to understand the broader business health.
