TVS Holdings Infuses ₹484 Crore in Home Credit India

TVS Holdings has injected ₹484 crore into its subsidiary, Home Credit India Finance, via a rights issue to support expansion and meet regulatory capital requirements. This marks the third major capital infusion by the parent firm into the NBFC during 2026, underscoring its commitment to scaling the consumer finance business.

TVS Holdings has completed a capital infusion of ₹484 crore into its subsidiary, Home Credit India Finance, through a rights issue. The transaction involved the allotment of 125.5 million equity shares, which maintains the parent company's 74.45% controlling stake in the non-banking financial company (NBFC).

This investment is intended to fuel the lender's growth plans and ensure it maintains the capital levels required by the Reserve Bank of India for middle-layer NBFCs. The capital injection comes as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the subsidiary's balance sheet for ongoing operations and lending activities.

This move follows a series of capital supports provided by TVS Holdings throughout 2026. The company had previously infused ₹526.79 crore in March and ₹176.38 crore in July, bringing the total capital backing for the subsidiary to more than ₹1,180 crore for the year. This consistent flow of funds highlights the parent group's focus on expanding Home Credit's footprint in the competitive Indian retail lending market.

For the 2025-26 fiscal year, Home Credit India reported a turnover of ₹2,112.74 crore and a profit after tax of ₹132.24 crore, indicating a stable performance in its current operational cycle. The management appears focused on using this fresh liquidity to increase its loan book and market presence.

Investors are also tracking the wider corporate structure of the group. The TVS group is working toward a restructuring plan that includes the proposed demerger of its consumer finance and related businesses into a new entity, Harita ARC Ltd, which is expected to be completed by mid-2027. While this restructuring is underway, some market observers and advisory firms have previously noted the importance of clarity regarding succession and governance within the promoter family. These factors, alongside the execution of the demerger, remain items that shareholders monitor.

Going forward, the primary focus for investors will be on how effectively Home Credit India utilizes this capital to grow its lending business and whether the company can maintain its financial momentum in the face of strong competition in the retail finance sector. The upcoming milestones, including the progress of the Harita ARC demerger, will be key updates for stakeholders.
