Sammaan Capital Eyes ₹92,000 Crore Annual Loan Target by FY30

Sammaan Capital has announced plans to scale annual loan disbursements to ₹92,000 crore by FY30, supported by new product launches and branch expansion. This ambitious roadmap follows a challenging Q1 FY27, where profit and revenue declined. Investors are weighing the company's long-term growth strategy against recent financial volatility and the risks of such a rapid business expansion.

Sammaan Capital, formerly known as Indiabulls Housing Finance, has revealed an aggressive growth strategy to significantly scale its lending operations. The company aims to increase its annual loan disbursements to a range of ₹50,000 crore to ₹92,000 crore by FY30. This expansion plan includes a massive increase in physical presence, with the company aiming to grow its branch network from 220 to 1,600 locations, alongside plans to expand its workforce from 6,000 to 20,000 employees.

Diversifying the Business Model

To achieve these targets, the company is moving beyond its traditional housing finance roots. The management has outlined a phased rollout of new financial products. Starting in the second half of this fiscal year, Sammaan Capital plans to introduce digital personal loans, rural home loans, and micro-loans against property. In the following years, the company intends to add two- and three-wheeler financing, gold loans, and consumer durable financing to its portfolio. The goal is to reduce reliance on its existing business and capture a wider share of the retail lending market.

Financial Headwinds and Investor Sentiment

This growth roadmap comes at a time when the company is managing significant short-term financial pressure. In its Q1 FY27 results, Sammaan Capital reported a 27% year-on-year decline in net profit to ₹243.3 crore, while revenue fell by 31%. Following these results, the company’s stock faced selling pressure, declining approximately 5.8% on August 14, 2026.

The company faces the dual challenge of funding this large-scale expansion while trying to stabilize its core profitability. Investors are closely tracking whether the business can effectively manage the costs associated with opening over 1,300 new branches and hiring thousands of new staff without putting undue pressure on its profit margins and debt levels.

The IHC Support and De-risking

A major pillar of this growth plan is the backing from Abu Dhabi-based International Holding Company (IHC). Through its affiliate, IHC has taken a major stake in the company and provided substantial capital, which has helped Sammaan Capital improve its credit ratings to AA+ (Stable). This upgrade has already helped the company lower its cost of funds, which is central to its ability to lend profitably in the retail segment.

On the legal and regulatory front, the company has seen a major positive development with the Karnataka High Court dismissing an Enforcement Directorate money-laundering case. This event is seen as a significant de-risking step for the organization, as it clears a long-standing legal hurdle that had affected investor confidence.

Going forward, the primary monitorable for shareholders will be the execution of this expansion plan. The company needs to prove that it can successfully integrate these new product lines and manage its debt effectively, even as it scales its operations rapidly in a competitive retail lending market.
