Nexedge Capital Appoints Apurva Sahijwani as Co-Founder

Nexedge Capital has appointed former Avendus Wealth CEO Apurva Sahijwani as co-founder. This move follows the private firm’s $20 million funding round in August 2026, as it seeks to scale its wealth advisory services for ultra-high-net-worth families in India. Investors should note the company is private and competes in a highly crowded, market-sensitive sector.

Nexedge Capital, an independent wealth management firm, has brought on board Apurva Sahijwani, the former Managing Director and CEO of Avendus Wealth Management, as a co-founder. This leadership change marks a strategic push for the firm, which was founded in 2024, as it looks to strengthen its footprint in the Indian private banking and multi-family office space.

Sahijwani brings deep experience in the sector, having previously held senior roles at institutional heavyweights, including leading the private banking division at Axis Bank. His appointment comes at a time when the firm is in an active expansion phase. In August 2026, Nexedge Capital secured USD 20 million in funding from investors including Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Elev8 Venture Partners. This capital is being used to scale technology and advisory operations as the firm attempts to capture a larger share of the wealth management market for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families.

The firm, currently led by founder Anirudha Taparia, is positioning itself as a flexible, non-bank alternative to traditional institutional wealth managers. While large banks currently dominate the landscape, Nexedge Capital is betting on a growing preference among wealthy families for independent advisory platforms that offer a more personalized service model compared to standard retail banking setups.

Investors looking at the broader wealth management sector should be aware that Nexedge Capital is a private company. Unlike publicly traded wealth management firms, it does not provide public disclosures regarding its financial results, debt levels, or operating margins. This limits transparency for outside observers and means that details regarding the firm’s profitability and long-term financial health are not available.

Furthermore, the business faces significant risks related to the competitive environment. The Indian wealth management industry is highly crowded, with established banks and large financial institutions holding significant market share and resources. Additionally, revenue in this sector is highly dependent on overall market performance and investor confidence. If market conditions turn volatile or if investor interest in private wealth advisory services softens, it could impact the firm's growth plans. The key monitorable for the industry will be how effectively the company can use its fresh capital to scale operations and retain clients in such a competitive market.
