JMJ Fintech Q1 Profit Jumps 72%, Plans New Fundraise

JMJ Fintech reported a 72.5% rise in Q1 FY27 profit to ₹1.97 crore, supported by an 82% surge in assets under management. The NBFC has also announced plans to raise capital through new shares and debt, alongside the launch of its 'Money bro' digital lending platform. Investors are currently awaiting the board's decisions on fundraising pricing and dividends due on August 18, 2026.

JMJ Fintech Limited has reported a 72.5% year-on-year increase in net profit for the first quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, reaching ₹1.97 crore. The company’s revenue for the quarter stood at ₹5.36 crore, a growth of 5.7% compared to the same period last year. A significant contributor to this performance was the company’s assets under management (AUM), which expanded by 82.11% to touch ₹78.23 crore.

To support its growth strategy and increase its digital reach, the company recently launched 'Money bro', a new technology-driven lending platform. Management expects this digital-first approach to streamline the borrowing process and help the company tap into new customer segments across different geographies.

The company is also preparing for a significant capital infusion. On August 10, 2026, the board approved plans to raise funds through a preferential issue of up to 1.6 million equity shares and the issuance of non-convertible debentures worth up to ₹2 crore. A board meeting is scheduled for August 18, 2026, where the company will finalize the pricing for these shares, discuss dividend payouts for the previous fiscal year, and plan for the upcoming annual general meeting.

While the expansion in AUM and the digital platform launch represent growth-oriented efforts, investors should consider the broader financial and stock-specific risks. As of August 14, 2026, the company’s stock was trading at ₹9.38 on the BSE, showing high volatility with a 52-week trading range between ₹8.27 and ₹18.99.

Shareholders should be aware that the company has undergone substantial dilution in the past year, with the number of shares outstanding increasing by over 200%. Additionally, the company’s operational efficiency faces challenges, reflected in a significant increase in working capital days. Given the company’s small market capitalization of approximately ₹35.3 crore, the stock may exhibit higher price sensitivity compared to larger financial institutions. The next major monitorable for the company will be the outcome of the August 18 board meeting, which will provide clarity on the actual cost of capital and the company’s near-term dividend policy.
