Indo-MIM IPO Opens July 23: Price Band Set at ₹461-485

Indo-MIM Ltd. will launch its ₹3,800 crore initial public offering on July 23, with shares priced between ₹461 and ₹485. The IPO includes a ₹500 crore fresh issue and a ₹3,312 crore offer for sale by existing shareholders. IIT Madras will receive approximately ₹112 crore from selling a portion of the stake gifted by founder Dr. Krishna Chivukula.

Indo-MIM Ltd., a player in the metal injection molding sector, is set to launch its initial public offering (IPO) on July 23, 2026. The company aims to raise a total of ₹3,800 crore from the public market. The offering consists of a fresh issue of shares worth ₹500 crore, which the company intends to use for its business operations, and an offer for sale of ₹3,312 crore by existing shareholders.

The company has fixed a price band of ₹461 to ₹485 per share for the issue. Anchor investors, who are typically large institutional buyers, will have the opportunity to bid for shares one day prior to the public opening, on July 22. The subscription window for public investors will remain open until July 27, with the final listing of shares on stock exchanges expected on July 30, 2026.

A notable aspect of this IPO involves IIT Madras. The institute holds a 1% stake in Indo-MIM, which was gifted by the company's founder and alumnus, Dr. Krishna Chivukula. Through the offer for sale component of this IPO, IIT Madras plans to divest half of its holding, which is estimated to generate around ₹112 crore for the institute. This marks a unique instance of an asset-based contribution, where the growth of a company founded by an alumnus provides direct liquidity to the university.

Founded in 1997, Indo-MIM operates in the specialized manufacturing segment of metal injection molding, a process used to create complex metal parts. Investors tracking this IPO will likely focus on the company's financial health, including its profit margins, debt levels, and the demand for its products across global markets. As with any public issue, potential investors should monitor the company's growth plans, the use of funds from the fresh issue, and the competitive landscape of the metal components industry.

Following the listing, the key update for market observers will be the company’s performance in its first quarterly earnings report as a public entity, which will offer insight into how effectively it executes its expansion plans and manages costs. Investors may also track management commentary on future capital spending and order book visibility.
