HDFC Bank, Ixigo Shares Rise After Quarterly Updates

HDFC Bank shares climbed 2% on profit growth of Rs 19,510 crore. Ixigo shares rose 10% following a profit turnaround, while Adroit Infotech gained 5% on an acquisition deal. Conversely, Urban Company shares fell 9% as losses widened despite revenue growth.

On October 19, 2026, the Indian stock market saw a mixed response to the latest quarterly financial results. Investors focused on profitability trends and strategic expansion plans, leading to distinct movements in shares of HDFC Bank, Ixigo, and several other companies.

HDFC Bank shares rose 2% as the lender reported a standalone profit of Rs 19,510 crore for the second quarter, representing a 4.7% increase compared to the previous year. The bank’s net interest income, which is the primary income generated from lending activities, climbed 9.7% to Rs 34,619.2 crore. For bank investors, this growth in core income is often seen as a sign of stability, helping the stock trade positively amid broader market volatility.

Shares of Le Travenues Technology, known as Ixigo, saw a significant 10% rise during the session. The company reported a turnaround in its performance, achieving a profit of Rs 61.3 crore compared to the Rs 3.2 crore loss recorded in the same period last year. Revenue for the company grew 12.9% to reach Rs 320.96 crore. This shift to profitability is a critical factor that investors often monitor in growth-oriented technology and travel businesses.

Strategic corporate moves also influenced share prices elsewhere. Adroit Infotech shares gained 5% after the company signed a non-binding agreement to acquire a majority stake in Croatia-based Verso Altima Group. Market participants often view overseas acquisitions as a method for companies to expand their service capabilities and geographic reach. In contrast, Zen Technologies shares experienced a mild retreat of 1.5%. The decline followed the board's decision to authorize an investment of Rs 135.15 crore for a 51.98% stake in Cogknit Semantics, a move intended to bolster the company's presence in the defense technology sector. Investors sometimes adopt a cautious approach following large investment announcements until the impact on cash flow and integration is clearer.

Meanwhile, Urban Company faced a 9% decline as its consolidated loss widened to Rs 182.5 crore, up from Rs 59.3 crore a year ago. While the company reported a 41.4% surge in revenue to Rs 537.3 crore, the expanding loss suggests that operational expenses are currently rising faster than revenue. For investors, the next important monitorable will be whether the company can control costs and improve margins while maintaining its revenue growth.
