Capri Global Capital reported a 67% jump in standalone net profit to ₹353 crore for the quarter ending September 2026. The growth was driven by a 72% expansion in its loan book, although investors may monitor rising provisions for impaired assets, which increased to ₹70 crore from ₹20 crore last year.
Capri Global Capital recorded a strong financial performance for the second quarter of the fiscal year 2027. The company announced a standalone net profit of ₹353 crore for the period ending September 2026, marking a 67% increase compared to the ₹212 crore reported in the same quarter last year.
The profit growth was largely supported by the company's lending activities. Net interest income, which is the difference between interest earned from loans and interest paid to depositors or lenders, rose by 71.6% to reach ₹7,049 crore. Additionally, fee and commission income grew by 46.6% to ₹107 crore.
Loan Book Expansion and Asset Quality
One of the most notable features of the company's performance was the rapid expansion of its loan book. By the end of September 2026, the total loan book had grown by 72% year-on-year to ₹27,168 crore. While this growth suggests strong demand for the company's credit products, it also comes with increased operational costs. Employee benefit expenses for the quarter rose to ₹224 crore, up from ₹167 crore in the previous year.
Investors may note the rise in provisions for impaired assets, which reached ₹70 crore compared to ₹20 crore in the same period last year. Provisions are funds set aside to cover potential losses from loans that may not be repaid. An increase in this area is a common monitorable for financial companies, as it indicates the firm is accounting for higher risks as it scales its lending business.
Consolidated Performance and Future Targets
On a consolidated basis, which includes the performance of subsidiaries in housing finance, auto loans, and insurance broking, the company reported a record profit of ₹418 crore, a 77% improvement from the previous year. Assets under management (AUM) also saw a significant increase, rising 62% to ₹43,878 crore.
Management has outlined aggressive growth plans for the coming years. The company has set an intermediate AUM target of ₹65,000 crore for the fiscal year 2028, with a long-term goal of surpassing ₹1,25,000 crore by the fiscal year 2031. Future updates will likely focus on whether the company can maintain this rapid pace of loan book expansion while keeping asset quality and loan repayment issues under control.
