CAMS Q2 Profit Jumps 14% to ₹131 Crore; AUM Hits Record High

Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) reported a 14.4% rise in net profit to ₹131.5 crore for the September 2026 quarter. Revenue increased by 10% to ₹414.5 crore, driven by a record ₹58.4 lakh crore in mutual fund assets under management. The company’s efforts to diversify revenue through digital payments and data protection platforms are also gaining traction.

Computer Age Management Services (CAMS) recorded solid growth in the second quarter of the 2027 fiscal year, with net profit rising to ₹131.5 crore, a 14.4% increase compared to the same period last year. The company’s total revenue for the quarter stood at ₹414.5 crore, marking a 10% year-on-year growth. This performance was supported by strong inflows into mutual funds, pushing the company's total assets under management to a record ₹58.4 lakh crore.

Core Business and Operating Margins

CAMS continues to hold a significant business advantage in the mutual fund registrar and transfer agent space, maintaining a 67% market share. Because the company’s business model involves processing high volumes of data with relatively stable costs, it benefits from what is known as operating leverage. This means that as transaction volumes increase, the company’s profit margins tend to expand because its costs do not rise as quickly as its revenue. This trend was evident in the latest quarter, where EBITDA margins grew by 140 basis points to reach 46%.

Diversification Gains Momentum

While the mutual fund business remains the company's primary driver, CAMS is actively working to reduce its reliance on this single segment by expanding into other areas of financial infrastructure. This diversification strategy is showing early results. The non-mutual fund business segment grew by 21.7% year-on-year.

A key highlight was the performance of CAMSPay, the company’s digital payment arm, which now contributes over 6% to total revenue. Operating revenue for this unit surged by 52% year-on-year, aided by 21 new deals signed during the quarter. Furthermore, the company is integrating new technology platforms to serve the broader financial sector. Its new data protection tool, ConsenPro, has already been adopted by 20 clients in the banking, financial services, and insurance sector, indicating that the company is successfully positioning itself as a central service provider for India's financial ecosystem.

Investor Monitorables

For investors, the most important factor remains the health of the mutual fund industry, as CAMS’s core revenue is linked to industry inflows and asset growth. While the company is successfully diversifying, any regulatory changes affecting fee structures in the registrar industry or a slowdown in mutual fund investments could impact performance. Moving forward, the market will monitor how effectively the company can scale its new digital platforms and whether the non-mutual fund segments can continue to contribute a larger portion of the total revenue over the coming quarters.
