Bajaj Finance's shares are trading near their yearly high ahead of their September quarter earnings report. Analysts polled by CNBC-TV18 predict a robust performance, with Net Interest Income (NII) likely to surge 22% year-on-year to ₹10,786 crore, and net profit expected to climb 24% to ₹4,886 crore. Provisions are projected to increase by 6.5% sequentially to ₹2,257 crore.
Key metrics to watch include Net Interest Margins (NIMs) and asset quality. Bajaj Finance's NIMs are forecast to rise by 9 basis points to 9.62% from the previous quarter. Credit costs are expected to remain stable at around 2% sequentially.
The company's business update highlighted a growing customer franchise, reaching 110.64 million, an increase of 4.13 million in the quarter. New loans booked jumped 26% year-on-year to 12.17 million. Assets Under Management (AUM) expanded by 24% year-on-year to ₹4,62,250 crore, with a growth of nearly ₹21,000 crore in the quarter. The deposit book also saw an increase, reaching nearly ₹69,750 crore.
Impact: Positive earnings results that meet or exceed these expectations are likely to further boost investor confidence and potentially drive the stock price higher, reinforcing its position near its 52-week high. Conversely, any significant miss could lead to profit-booking. Rating: 8/10
